Hey all! 😊 Thrilled to be joining this community. My weight loss journey has been going on for a bit now, and not long ago I added GLP-1 medications (Sema, and these days Tirz) so I can finally reach a point where I feel my best — both physically and mentally. The ā€œtraditionalā€ routes got a fair shot from me (dieting, working out, etc.), and sure, there was some progress, but consistency and plateaus have been real struggles. Over the past 3 months I’m down about 12-ish pounds, which makes me proud, though honestly it’s come a little slower than I’d hoped.

What I’m concentrating on at the moment:

  • Taking the weight off in a way I can sustain
  • Keeping protein high and building better habits
  • Staying consistent and daily movement
  • Learning how to use GLP-1s the right way
I’d really like to hear how things have gone for others — particularly what worked, what didn’t, and any tips you wish you knew when you started.

Also just here for the support, accountability, and to learn as much as I can. 😊

Looking forward to connecting with you all.

Glad you're here. I just joined as well. There's a ton of information, and it can feel like too much, yet it's essential. Staying united matters for all of us.

First off, glad to have you here!!

Like others have said, the sheer volume of things to pick up—particularly when this is all new territory—can feel like a lot to handle at times… just move at whatever speed works for you, verify anything you're unsure about, and stand behind your choices. If something doesn't sit right, hold off, pick up knowledge from those around you, and eventually you'll have everything you need.

This place is full of all kinds of stories, enjoy getting to know them.

You mentioned your weight loss journey has been going for a while, but the GLP meds are a recent addition, and the results so far have left you less than impressed:

At what weight did this journey begin for you?

Before GLPs entered the picture, how much had you dropped?

Where are you aiming to end up weight-wise?

What does your GLP dosing schedule look like, both previously and right now?

..just a bit of context to work with šŸ™‚

Exactly! Nowadays it falls on us to uncover the gaps in our own knowledge. Dig, dig, and dig some more. Not everything out there deserves your trust. At least, that’s the lesson my dad passed down—though what does he really know! šŸ˜›

At the end of the day, 12 lbs is 12lbs — keep going. I've just begun a low dose of reta myself, but this group holds plenty of information for when questions come up.

Hey there, welcome!

In the beginning, my routine was only diet plus exercise. That got me somewhere, but then progress stopped and I felt totally drained by the diet. After repeatedly coming across talk of "peptides this" and "peptides that," I looked into it a bit and chose tirz. Things have gone smoothly from then on — roughly 18kg lost in 3 months.

From the very first injection, I stopped snacking and junk food completely, and the only addition has been a basic protein shake between meals. My drinking is down around 80%, and smoking is gone entirely; tirz gets the credit for making that happen. Counting calories isn't something I bother with. I simply aim for healthy meals most of the time (whole foods, lots of vegetables, fish, lean meats, fiber, and so on).

I'd avoid overcomplicating it or thinking too hard about it. Small actions here and there are enough to move forward. If snacks between meals are still happening, reach for something healthy like nuts or fruit. A brief walk after meals helps. During the day, I aim to stand and move for a few minutes each hour. The gym is a 3x per week goal (though life sometimes interferes). Just pick whatever suits you and gets you moving daily.

My main focus points:

Eat healthy

Get extra protein

Get enough fiber

Drink enough water

Walk each day (even just 5 minutes)

Gym 3x week full body workout (squat, bench, deadlift, press, weighted carry)

Sleep (7-8 hours a night)

also,

multi-vitamin (just to make sure I'm not missing anything since I eat a lot less on tirz)

Things I wish I knew when I first started:

Staying at lower doses is fine if they're working for you.

Each month I increased dosage (2.5, 5, 7.5), yet good weight was coming off at 2.5. Staying there a couple months probably would have saved me some money.

Anyways, those are my thoughts. You seem to be doing the right things and making progress, so just keep at it. Walls and stalls will show up along the way, but if you stay consistent, your goals will eventually be reached.

Good luck!
