Hi folks — time for a proper introduction from me!
26, male, and the big lad in the room for as long as I can remember. Puberty took care of a few things, but the belly and the chest — yes, the moobs — never got that message and have stayed put through everything.
Here's the maddening bit: I know perfectly well what works. Locked in, my formula is counting calories, plenty of protein, low carb, and the gym 3 or 4 times a week whenever the hours allow. It works. The job is the problem… full-stack marketing lead for clients overseas, and during crunch periods the days run 12-plus hours. Once that starts, the routine is the first casualty, and every pound I shed comes straight back. That loop has been my life for the last several years, and it's the reason I finally started looking elsewhere.
Some friends of mine are employed by supplement brands. Three of that group are on peptides — GHK-Cu, for skin and healing — and it was them who pointed out that weight-loss peptides exist too, which is what sparked my curiosity. Me, I'm simply a bloke whose chest and gut have never played ball, hunting for a route that actually works.
Which leads me to GLP-1s. Curious, yes, but wary with it — side effects are my biggest worry, particularly anything severe or permanent. Diabetes isn't part of my picture at all, so the weight is the whole story for me; plenty of you are coming at this from the diabetes angle though, and I want to learn from that side too. Hearing from people who've actually been on them is what I'm after.
What I want from all this: near term, the belly and chest finally under control. The larger prize is an approach that survives the crunch periods, since shedding the weight was never my difficulty — holding onto the loss is.
Mostly I'll be reading and absorbing, but honest answers would be great on these:

Mostly I'll be reading and absorbing, but honest answers would be great on these:
- How the side effects felt in practice, and whether any of them made you quit.
- How you slot it into a punishing schedule, if yours resembles mine.
- What things look like further out, after those first weeks are behind you.
- Whatever you wish someone had told you at the start.
