Hey everyone on the forum,
I'm a guy in my late 30s. For roughly 10 years I've dealt with binge eating — and I mean genuinely absurd quantities of food eaten in one sitting. About 3 months back I finally saw a nutritional psychiatrist, who put me on compounded tirzepatide. At that stage I had basically run out of options and honestly figured it wouldn't do anything. My starting dose was 2 mg, then after a few weeks I went to 4 mg, and in the end I got up to 10 mg. The result was, frankly, amazing: for 10 weeks my bingeing disappeared entirely. Dieting and training felt effortless in a way I hadn't felt for years.
Then, near the close of that 10-week stretch, I binged for 3 days straight. "Expert ChatGPT" suggested the cause was my body fat having fallen to roughly 11–12%, meaning my body was fighting back aggressively despite tirzepatide's GLP-1/GIP activity. During those final weeks of dieting my sleep collapsed (cortisol spikes, supposedly), and the hunger and food noise returned at full force, close to how things were before I ever touched the medication. Apparently that's expected when body fat gets low, even while on these drugs.
After that binge I was crushed. So I did something irrational (and probably irresponsible): I raised my tirzepatide from 10 mg to 13.5 mg. Within 24 hours of that jump, though, I felt like I was back at the start — food noise roughly 75% lower, mood improved, everything more settled. Do I believe that chasing a bigger dose for a particular effect is a wise long-term plan? No. I'm trying to work out how to move ahead without simply putting a GLP-1 band-aid over something deeper.
Some extra background: I'm also on TRT via a urology clinic. And in something of a panic after the binge, I ordered additional testosterone, tirzepatide, and semaglutide from a reputable peptide seller. Lately I've been very curious about GLP-1s, particularly stacking them (though the reviews are mixed). The entire reason I wanted to "shred" over these past 10 weeks was to be able to begin a testosterone cycle and add muscle cleanly, rather than starting from a higher body fat level and having to deal with estrogen problems.
Anyway, I'm glad to be here and I'm looking forward to browsing around.
