Howdy Y’all

I’m 25M, pretty fresh to Reta and eager to find out where this road takes me.

My journey kicked off roughly 3 months back, with a buddy lending a hand — and truthfully, I jumped in having done next to no homework. He kept going on and on about it until I was convinced to give it a try.

Starting weight was 280lbs, and now I’m sitting at 250 lbs. My very first dose was 0.5 mg, since I was absolutely terrified about side effects. So far I’ve had 0, aside from the odd “oh sh** I’m about to blow up my pantaloons” moment. Right now I’m on 3.5 mg and it’s doing its job pretty darn well. The goal is 200 lbs. I don’t really work out much (I know I should), but I rack up plenty of steps daily (20k-30k).

What really pulled me into this drug was losing my father a few months earlier — he passed away from a heart attack at 63. I’ve also got 2 lovely children whom I adore so very much, and I’m hoping to live a long healthy life <3

Cheers 😉 slow and steady wins the race.

Hey man, welcome aboard, and nice work on what you've achieved so far. Shedding 30 lbs over 3 months is a big deal, particularly when you're pacing yourself and learning as you go.

I'm really sorry about your dad. A loss like that can shift how you view your own wellbeing, all the more when little ones count on you. Honestly, I have a lot of respect for you turning that grief into fuel to stick around longer for your kids.

Starting at a low dose, watching how your body reacts, and refusing to hurry things along sounds like a genuinely wise way to go about it. And 20k-30k steps daily is way more movement than the vast majority of folks manage, so pat yourself on the back for that as well. Bringing in some lifting later on would certainly be a plus, but the base you're building is already strong.

Stay with it, man. Slow and steady really does win the race.
