Hello all! I'm a 58-year-old woman with dual citizenship in the US and Canada, and my battle with weight began way back at age 5
Honestly, it's been a lifelong cycle of losing and regaining, and I've attempted just about every method out there. Weight Watchers, cabbage soup (
), fasting, Fen-Phen (which I loved!) and Keto (which I couldn't stand!).
More recently, across the past 2 years, I dropped 75 pounds using doctor-prescribed Wegovy, which brought my blood pressure down, lowered my A1-C levels, and meant I no longer required the RLS medication I'd taken for 18 years. All fantastic! However, starting 1-1-26, my insurance basically said screw you and stopped covering the prescription. The $1,200 cost is absurd and unfortunately out of my reach. I've put 10 lbs back on and began Reta three weeks ago. Before that, I spent six weeks on Trizepitide with no results whatsoever. I'm trying to stay patient with the Reta, but it's tough given how well Wegovy worked for me and how familiar I am with lessened appetite and quieted food noise.
Anyway, I'm here to absorb and learn. Benefit from what others have gone through and hopefully tackle these remaining 40 pounds!
