Hi All,

Mid forties, type 2 diabetic.

Peptides are still fairly new territory for me, and my mission is to undo the damage from the last 40 years of my own making and get out of what has been a state of Managed Decline.

2 years ago I started out at 295, very sick and with the sense that my life was being cut short. Aggressive Carnivore began right away and weight came off across the following 18 months.

The Carnivore diet carried me down to 251, where things stalled for a few months. Exercise wasn't happening then — I was still tired and wanted the diet sorted first. Diet alone brought my A1C from 9.9 to 5.4, but I stayed pretty husky and my appetite stayed large.

A GLP-1 seemed like the right next step to carry me to my goal weight of 200lbs. The trouble: my job let me go a few months back, so the insurance is gone :/

First Tirzepatide injections came from a compounding outfit nearby, $200 a month at 2.5mg. It worked extremely well, but with no job the payments weren't sustainable, so my research began.

Once Retatrutide came onto my radar I switched over, keeping carbs lowish while dropping strict carnivore. Started at 1mg reta alongside 2.5mg Tirz, then 2mg reta alongside 2.5mg Tirz. Coming off Tirz was the plan at one point, but appetite returned fast and both together felt great.

This dose is still where I sit, and it's going great. 2 months all in now, counting the opening month on Tirz, and 251 has become 238.

A 7 minute full body weight routine with 15lb dumbells has been in the mix daily since 3 weeks ago, plus a walk/jog of an extra mile or 2 a day. Very sore is what I'd otherwise be, and the way my body responds is good. Muscle going up, belly coming down.

The plan is a first 5k in March, with the goal weight reached around April/May.

Finding research at a price I can afford, and widening my resources hugely, is possible now. That this forum exists, and can help me change my life, is something I'm very grateful for.

This forum is wonderful — thanks for it, and for the knowledge and insight that countless hours of reading have already given me.
