Hi all,

I figured I would post a quick introduction now that I am starting what I call my "Turning 50 Glow Up." This August I reach the big 50, and I have made up my mind that this is the year to get my health, recovery, and performance more locked in than they have ever been.

A little about how I got here:

The Foundation: Semaglutide was part of my routine for a bit under three years. It worked well as a tool and I dropped 40 lbs, but at some point things stalled and reversed. Cravings came back along with the food noise, and the weight started creeping back on.

The Transition: I moved over to Tirzepatide roughly three and a half months ago. The difference has been night and day!

The Results: My body has been reacting very differently since I made the change, particularly in terms of body composition. There is no food noise left at all and appetite suppression is powerful. Right now I am at 13.2 mg a week.

Lately one of my biggest shifts has been diving deep into the numbers my body generates. A CGM has let me watch my glucose levels live, and that has been huge for figuring out how I respond to various foods and training loads. I am also keeping close tabs on sleep and recovery data so I know my body is actually taking in the gym work I put out.

Alongside all that, I have developed a new appreciation for the sauna. It now plays a central role in my recovery and in keeping stress in check.

At the moment my aim is a recomp approach. I am in the gym on a regular basis, prioritizing high volume lifting, and following a protocol that brings in GLOW peptides plus CJC/Ipamorelin for repair and to hold onto muscle.

This week specifically, I reached a new low of 196 lbs and my waist measurement came down by almost an inch, and at the same time I set personal bests on the leg press and chest press. Last night I even logged a perfect 100 sleep score. It goes to show that age is only a number when the data and recovery are dialed in.

I am eager to pick up things from everyone here and to pass along what I have learned across the last three years. If you are over 45 and working on your own Glow Up, or you are in the middle of switching from Sema to Tirz, I would really like to connect.

Cheers!

Hi there! I hit the 50 mark this year too, and the past 3 of them were spent on sema. About 25kgs came off, and I reached the highest dose without managing to shift those final few kilos. Recently made the switch to grey tirz to push through, and I'm thrilled with it. This year I want to move into heavier weights and focus on some recomp. For 20 of my 50 years I've been very overweight, and now I've set myself the goal of living the second half of my life in the best shape I can possibly reach. It's never too late!!

Wishing you all the best on your journey ☺️

You seem pretty active, so I'm curious—what made you pass on Reta? (Not second-guessing you, just curious.)
I'd like to know the same thing. When someone has the option, I'm curious why they'd go with tirz instead of Reta.

Believe me.. early on I spent money on a TON of just 1 item, only to realize a combo might have performed even better. speaking purely hypothetically for my kangaroo.. I picked up 20 vials of Ghk-cu, when I could have simply gone with GLOW or cjc-1259 no DAC and paired it with ipamorelin. not claiming this applies to anyone else's Kangaroo, I'm just tossing a pinch of misguided wisdom down off the mountain.

Hello, and your path is something I can really identify with. I'm also reaching 50 this year — a milestone that feels quite odd, honestly. That was when I first got truly committed to fixing the parts of myself I wasn't happy about, health and wellbeing included. Peptides have handed me a small extra push that amplifies a healthy lifestyle — and it sounds like you already had that going, which is fantastic! In my case, it meant shedding some weight and building up energy that I could then channel back into exercise and better eating, and so on. From what I've been told, peptides only amplify what you're already doing; they won't do the whole job for you — and I can confirm that has been exactly my experience. The real key now is fine-tuning which peptides you use, since that's what makes the biggest difference! I'd love for us to swap stories and things we've learned!

I’m not certain whether your question was aimed in my direction, but I’ll go ahead and respond regardless 😁 My reasoning was that stepping up from a single agonist (Sema) to a double agonist (tirz), and saving Reta for a later stage only if it became necessary (triple agonist), seemed like the logical order. On top of that, I’ve come across accounts that Reta may cause a slight increase in heart rate, which I wanted to avoid.
