We truly live in one of those eras where decades happen in weeks. Old enough to have watched many, many weight loss hype cycles end in dissapointment for the vast majority. fen-phen is one I remember my father taking; atkins came next, then a vegetarian phase because my mother insisted, and plenty more besides. Not one of those things could be sustained. His ultimate solution was gastric bypass. It did work — at a cost, though. Years of mine have gone into chasing the ground truth: what actually makes weight come off and stay off. Nobody was better educated about healthy living than this fat person right here. Sort of working happened only with keto, which for me couldn't be sustained long term. Because, pizza.

Tirzepatide and I are only a little over three weeks in, but this FEELS like it's going to work. My health already shows improvement and nothing new has excited me this much in a long time. A short life full of misery was what I'd made my peace with. About 6 weeks ago, this compound was still far out of my reach as far as I knew. No insurance, can't afford $1000+ per month. For a few years I've known this was an incredible meidication. Waiting until the pattents expire in the mid 2030s while I did my best not to die in the meantime was the plan.

Most of you are here for the same reason I am: how to make this into something financially sustainable without accidentally harming myself. A great fount of internet knowledge is what I feel I've stumbled on. They seem fewer and farther between nowadays, but I'm glad some still exist.

Hello, glad to be here!
