As a kid and into my early adult years, my body stayed lean like a swimmer no matter how much I ate. The rule at home was to clean my plate every time, which left me with a pretty unhealthy mindset around eating. My BMI stayed "normal" up until my late 20's, then across 2 years I ballooned to 220 pounds. At some point something clicked, and I became super strict with what I ate. By cutting calories and sticking to it, I shed 50 pounds with no exercise. Even so, I never built good eating habits. Through most of my 30's and the start of my 40s, my weight sat in a range I was mostly content with. Lately though, the food noise has gotten really loud. I moved to a new job 3 years ago that keeps me sitting almost all day, with long hours. To me food is mostly just fuel that's easy to grab. When the food noise kicks in, a snack craving hits, and my calorie total ends up enormous. I began a low dose of Reta, and the weight is dropping fast. I bumped up my activity slightly. I go for walks and do weight lifting. Protein makes up a bigger share of what I eat. And.. my pants already fit better. It's honestly the "food noise" switching off. The one downside so far is that rather than tracking food/calories to avoid overeating, I track to make sure I get enough! Eating is still enjoyable, but it's turning into a chore.

So, I'm here to find out what others are up to, tips and tricks. Convenient and healthy snack foods.. or tools that simplify prepping and cooking (an air fryer, for instance), plus recipes.

Hi

I'm also in my 40s and just began Reta not long ago. So far I'm pretty pleased with the results, though there are a couple of downsides. Right now I take 1mg once per week. Would you be willing to tell me about your protocol? Thanks, and keep it up.

Started off with 1mg weekly, divided into 500mcg doses every 3.5 days (Monday morning, Thursday evening).

Now at 3mg per week, also split. Since January, I've dropped 20 pounds. Even though that might not seem like much next to some of the dramatic Reta success stories, it's been a consistent decline on the scale. I feel happier and more driven.
