Hi Everyone!

After going through the posts on here, I decided it was finally the right moment to say hello. The diet rollercoaster has taken up far too much of my life, and I want to take a more sustainable path with my health.

I started a GLP-1 medication not long ago. The physical changes are great, but what really surprised me was the mental shift. The "food noise" stopping at last has changed my life. My reasons for being here are to learn how to handle side effects, maintain my strength, and connect with others who truly get what this process is like.

I'm glad to be joining the group!

Congrats on getting started. For me GLP (Reta) didn't just quieten the food noise, it came with a wider mental shift. I stopped drinking alcohol about 1 1/2 years ago and my whole mindset around training consistency shifted drastically. It’s been a reawakening of my physical health. Best of luck with your journey

Welcome docborg! GLP-1 definitely silences that food noise, and it completely transformed my life too. One tip: while you move up in doses, don't get discouraged if your weight change goes up and down. Everyone responds differently to these meds and to the different doses. I dropped a lot of weight at 5mg, then almost nothing at 10mg, and started losing again at 12.5mg lol.

Enjoy your stay and gluck reaching your goals!

Cutting off the food noise made a massive difference in my case — after several weeks on reta, not feeling any urge to binge has worked incredibly well

I got a glp1 prescription not long ago too, and honestly the change has been wild. Before, I was tracking calories and always weighing what remained against how hungry I felt. These days I track calories for the opposite reason — making sure I get enough in, even when appetite isn't there. That shift has really changed things for me. I've been quietly reading posts in here, gathering whatever I can, ahead of switching to something that costs less, since getting to my goal matters a lot to me 🙂
