Starting Reta

First time user of any form of GLP1. Heard about reta from a comedy show clip, and the lady said "no, im on a retatrutide (because there is no such thing as "retatrutide (because there is no such thing as "GLP-3")")!" Or something of the sort, but it peaked my interest.

32M starting weight 318 on 6/26/26, highest weight of 345 back in March of 26 and January of 25, lowest weight within the last 10 years at 270 in July of 25, yes, 75 pounds in 6 months, both ways.

Been watching here for about a month, learned a lot, have done 2 1mg pins of reta so far and I haven't expired yet so ill keep posting and watching and commenting.

Interested to hear your experience of diving right into 3. I've been on 1, just now switching to 2 to hopefully conquer those last 10-15 #.

You’ve already made great progress. Well done. I’m also interested in Reta. I’ve tried ozempic and had success with it, but stalled.

I have no idea what's real and placebo at this point for it being such a small initial dose and all the first time jitters. First time pinning anything.

Id like to say I feel the glucagon effect by comparing to day 2 or 3 of extended fasting

Id like to say I feel the glp1 effect by comparing it to having already eaten a burrito at meal times

But after reflecting, all of these effects could totally be attributed to having literally injected myself with a substance, and how real and intentional all of this is.

No side effects so far.

Yeah, the only reason I felt my very first dose of 1 was because I f'ed up the math and took twice what I should have. The next week, at my real starting dose, didn't feel a thing.

Ditto - I'm about to switch to Tirzepatide for exactly this reason.

I’ve looked into tirz as well. Sounds like the Reta results are more severe, but I wonder if the side effects like nausea are also more severe.

Maybe taking with zofran at the same time can counteract that? I’ve also heard dosing right before bed so you sleep through the nausea also helps?

So far I haven’t been able to find a good resource on how to choose which peptide is a better fit.

Tirz and Reta both have side effects. It all depends on the person. Some people do experience some side effects - they tend to go away after your body adjusts, or the dose is too high (some people jump in at 2mg of Reta right away). I started at .5mg, didn't feel anything, then went to 1mg, and that's when I could feel it. I stayed at 1mg for about 2-3 weeks, and now I'm at 2.5mg. The only side effect I would feel is that feeling of constipation - it was bearable, and eventually it went away.

At a very basic level, Tirz generally does better with food noise, and Reta does better at making you feel full faster. Reta is also a triple agonist, hence why some people call it "retatrutide (because there is no such thing as "GLP-3")". I chose reta because it was a triple agonist and so far I'm happy. If you're deciding, I'd recommend Tirz (easier to obtain) because while reta has worked for many, it's still not officially approved by the FDA and only obtained through grey markets.

Maybe I need to keep looking, but when I saw the price for Tirz I was shocked.

I have a problem with sweets. Do you think one is better than the other to handle those cravings?
