Hi everyone,
I've been reading this forum for a while now, and I really wish I had found it sooner (I got scammed once...).
I'm a 40-year-old guy who stays pretty active. I lift weights and run about five times a week. I'm 173 cm (5'8") tall, and over the past year I had put on a few extra kilos. When I started retatrutide, I weighed 73.1 kg (161 lbs) at around 19% body fat.
Not too long ago I was running marathons at about 62 kg (137 lbs), so my goal was to get back somewhere close to that weight.
Lately my diet had gone downhill. I was constantly snacking whenever I had a few free minutes. I don't even remember how I first came across reta, but after doing some research I decided to give it a try.
I started in April and kept the dose low to minimize side effects:
Week 1: 0.5 mg
Week 2: 0.5 mg
Week 3: 1.0 mg
Week 4: 1.0 mg
Week 5: 1.5 mg
Week 6: 1.5 mg
Week 7: 2.0 mg
I've stayed at 2.0 mg ever since. I weighed myself today at 65.4 kg (144 lbs), which means I've lost 7.9 kg (17.4 lbs). I'm honestly amazed by how well reta has worked for me.
The biggest difference has been the complete lack of food noise. I no longer feel the urge to snack or raid the fridge every chance I get.
Obviously, it's not magic. I've been eating clean, training consistently, and I wasn't in terrible shape when I started. But it has made staying on track so much easier.
Side effects have been minimal. I've had a few mild headaches, which were easily fixed by increasing my water intake and adding electrolytes. I was also waking up in the middle of the night for a while.
After reading about similar experiences, I started having a spoonful of peanut butter before bed to help keep my blood sugar more stable overnight. Maybe it's just placebo, but I haven't had the problem since.
My athletic performance has stayed pretty solid. My max lifts have gone down a little, but I think losing almost 8 kg in two months would have had the same effect regardless of reta.
At this point I don't have much more fat to lose (I'm currently around 11.5% body fat), so my plan is to find the lowest effective maintenance dose and stay there long-term. If it keeps the food noise away, that's a huge win for me.
Like most people here, I've become pretty fascinated by peptides. I have an order on the way (hopefully customs doesn't get too curious
) with a few others I'd like to experiment with: MOTS-c, CJC-1295 (no DAC) with IPA, and KLOW.
I don't expect any of those to become permanent additions. The plan is to try them individually in short cycles and maybe eventually combine them just to see how they work.
Reta is a different story, though. That one is definitely here to stay.
Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself, share my experience so far, and thank everyone here for all the information I've learned from this forum.
