Began Reta in April 2025, dosing 1mg twice/week. I raised it gradually and now take 6mg every 3-4 days. About 6 weeks back I hit 190, and since then nothing has moved—just bouncing up and down. My training stays fairly steady: 4-5 days/week of 90 min hot sauna based yoga/pilates/core/glutes/body weight strength. I also add 30-45 mins of hot cardio once/twice a week. I’d like advice on whether moving to a “max” dose once weekly, rather than splitting it, might get things going again. Thanks!

Nice work getting this far, PepGuy77! I don’t have personal experience to draw on for tips, but from what I’ve read so far, it seems like peptide users with a lot of time under their belt—people in your position—often begin layering in other peptides to hit their targets, particularly after progress stalls. What’s your take?

How are you eating these days?

At this point, you likely need to revisit your daily calorie target based on the weight you're at now.

Man, that's pure muscle gain right there.

For sure take another look at what you're eating, since that's the simplest place to begin, though I don't think jumping straight to the max dose would be a terrible move either — your system has likely adapted to the Reta by now.

On top of that, have you looked into "resetting" your metabolism? I've been digging into that lately and it seems to help certain people.

Right now I'm only running a low dose, so I honestly can't promise it'll make a big difference!

Appreciate the encouragement. This week I'm beginning Tesamorelin, hoping it helps with body recomp in those stubborn fat spots. From what I understand, Reta isn't usually as appetite-suppressing as tirz, though in my case it was. My hunger has picked up lately, so I'm considering adding cagri to address that. Thanks!

Appreciate it — I’m mainly trying to get input from people who switched from dosing in split amounts to 1 single dose, and what their experience was. I’ll check out metab reset!

Here comes the guidance I’d rather avoid 🤣. All jokes aside, I’m pretty sure you’re correct

That approach seems solid. Wishing you the best as you move forward. Let us know how things go with Tesa and Cagri.

Hey everyone, my weight has gone from 249.1 lbs down to 231.5 lbs over roughly 12 weeks. To me, 6mg/week already seems like a fairly large dose. If I take a 2-week break, could I begin again at 2mg and build the dose back up gradually? Or would it be better to stay at 6mg and introduce cagri on top of it?

Wow, you're nearly 100 lbs down! That's massive — nice work!

Did you get any labs checked for insulin or blood sugar? Assuming nothing like hypoglycemia is going on, and given that you're in your 40s like me, I'm a fan of MOTS-c (if your budget can handle it, stack it with SS-31 — those 2 usually run a bit expensive). It gives a reasonable metabolic lift at the mitochondrial level (putting it very simply), and for me it's added stamina to squeeze out 1 or 2 more reps each set.

With a 6-day half-life, Reta needs about 30 days to fully clear. That said, 6 mg isn't excessively high. Since it's your body, I won't tell you what to do or not do, but you might look into peptide tracking apps or sites so you can see how long these peps remain in our systems. I hope this is useful—feel free to ask me anything else!

Appreciate the response. Since you don't feel that 6 mg is too high, would it make sense to hold at 6 mg for another two weeks to see how things develop prior to making any additional changes?

Also, when it comes to MOTS-c as something to stack with retatrutide, which pairing would you personally lean toward: retatrutide + MOTS-c, or retatrutide + cagrilintide?

What I'm mainly after is maximizing fat loss while keeping hunger and cravings in check. I'd like to hear your thoughts and experiences with either approach.

My own Reta journey began in late April, paired with Tesa, and I'm now titrating upward at 6.5mg per week. I've gone from 229lb down to 205lb while adding muscle. That stall you're seeing might simply be your body composition shifting toward more muscle. Then again, it could be nutrition-related. Be sure your protein intake is sufficient. What's worked well for me is 30-40+ minutes of incline treadmill work daily, zone 2 cardio, which has consistently helped me get leaner week after week.

Thanks for the reply. If you don't think 6 mg is too high, do you think I should stay at 6 mg for the next two weeks and see how things go before making any further adjustments?

Also, regarding MOTS-c as a stacking option with retatrutide, which combination would you personally prefer: retatrutide + MOTS-c or retatrutide + cagrilintide?

My main goal is to maximize fat loss while keeping hunger and cravings under control. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts and experiences with either approach.

The best part about grey, if you ask me, is having total say over your dosing. No physician is telling you to go up or come down... plus you decide how much to add and when the timing feels right.

What I'm getting at is this... If your current protocol has you feeling fine and producing results, don't change a thing! If bumping up appeals to you but makes you uneasy... go with 0.5 mg, or 1 mg rather than 2. You could even, in theory, exceed the "max" dose (though making that a target or an opening move isn't wise, haha).

So when it comes to suppressing appetite while on reta, cagrilintide is the partner you want. Just take it slow, keep your fluids up, and load up on fiber, otherwise you'll be sending baseballs through your toilet. Apologies for that visual, but it's a personal experience of mine.

If you want concrete figures from me, I'd stay at 6 mg reta and add 250 mcg (0.25 mg) or at most 500 mcg (0.5 mg) of cagrilintide. Hold that dose for 4 weeks to check whether it works or keeps working. After that, exercise that lovely freedom to go up, go down, or stay put.

No two people are alike, so if you find something that works, grab it! And yes, it may sound silly, but I'm in your corner. Best of luck on your wellness journey, and feel free to ask me anything anytime!

In my opinion, the greatest thing about going grey is the absolute freedom you have around dosing. You dont have doctors pushing you to increase or decrease doses... And you control the amount you increase, when you're ready.

The point I'm making would be... If you feel good with what you're taking, and you're seeing results, keep at it! If you want to increase, but are nervous... Increase by 0.5 mg, or 1 mg instead of 2. Heck, you could theoretically go above the "max" dose (not advisable to make this a goal or a first move, haha).

So, if your goal is hunger control, cagrilintide is your best friend, when using reta. Please go slow with it, stay hydrated, and slam fiber, or else you will be flushing baseballs down your toilet. Sorry for the image, its just something I've personally dealt with.

If I had to throw numbers at you, I'd stick with 6 mg reta, try 250 mcg (0.25 mg) or 500 mcg (0.5 mg) tops of cagrilintide. Stick with that dose for 4 weeks to see if it works/continues to work. From there, use that sweet freedom to increase, decrease, or maintain.

Everyone is different and if something works for you, go get it! And I know it sounds ridiculous, but I'm rooting for you. Good luck on your wellness journey, reach out anytime with questions!
