Hi there!
San Francisco is home, and I work in tech (ew!)
A few months back I began training seriously, and these days I run six days a week. Shin splints made my life hell when I first started. They cleared up eventually, but they've come back with a vengeance now
So besides stretching and strengthening work, I've been looking into less conventional fixes. Back in high school I ran in vibram five fingers (this was when they first appeared and only one model existed...) and I'm debating going back to barefoot shoes for running. The thing is, my mileage now is far beyond anything I managed back then.
Anyway, I've been lifting lately too and gradually tuning my supplements, nutrition and so on. This is the first time health and exercise have really become a hobby for me. It feels great! Tbh I suspect I take too many supplements, and I'm planning to drop a few that are probably placebos.
