Hey everyone,

I’m a 28 year old guy, 5’9”, and I’m sitting at roughly 300 lbs at the moment. I had been using semaglutide for roughly a year until last fall. At first I was on the standard version, and later I moved over to tirzepatide. A weight‑loss stimulant was part of my routine too. Around 50 pounds came off, but I wasn’t exercising and I wasn’t doing anything to my diet other than eating less. I quit in fall 2025 — school became chaotic, and the individual supplying it turned the whole process into a far bigger hassle than it should have been.

After that, every pound came back. Fast food has always been the center of how I eat, and my diet has never been good. Cooking or meal prepping has never been my thing, and I don’t intend to start. Eating less while still eating whatever is easy to grab — that’s been my entire approach.

Soda is another big one for me. Coke Zero used to be my drink, but once the weight returned I said forget it and switched back to regular soda. I’ve seen claims that Coke Zero is actually bad for weight loss, but honestly I’ve done both at different points and I don’t believe it mattered either way. Giving up some kind of flavored carbonated soda is not something I’m willing to do.

School is finished for the summer now, so I’m attempting to get back on track. The ease of losing weight on GLPs really appealed to me. I realize plenty of you go further than that, but I’m just being straight about where I’m at. Mainly I want to sort out what’s legit, what’s a scam, what’s unsafe, and what people here have picked up from their own experience. Exercise might be something I’m open to, but realistically it’ll only happen after I’ve already dropped some weight. Bariatric surgery has crossed my mind before, but I’m not sure about it, and really I just need the weight gone.

If you’ve been through this, what should someone in my situation keep in mind and what would you do differently? Also pic related is where I heard you guys from.

I found myself in a comparable situation. Between August and October of last year I went through some medical trouble. These days I measure 6'3 and weigh 121 kilos (266 pounds). Reta is the only thing I have used. From September last year up to roughly a month ago, my Reta use was stop-and-start. For the past month I have stayed on Reta without breaks. At my heaviest I hit 134 kilos (295 pounds), so your situation is something I can genuinely relate to. As for locating vendors, my approach was simply browsing this forum plus another one named Meso-rx, reading through threads, and noting which vendors kept coming up. I did not rush to grab the first vendor that looked decent — I held off. At the moment I am on no source discussion, so pointing you anywhere is not something I can do, but do browse around and at minimum get familiar with what you are after, what the typical acquisition process looks like, and how to properly use it. Reta is amazing. During this month on reta my eating has been pretty poor, yet I have still dropped a lot of weight. I never believed I could pull it off lol. I have been hitting the gym 6 days a week and training without missing. What I think you need to do is simply keep your activity level up. One tip I give you is to just chug down protein shakes bc reta will take away your urge to eat once you up the dose. Reply + like my message if you wanna discuss more I can tell you my experience and you can decide on what you want to do.

Reta is completely new to me. Google describes it as experimental with side effects, though I'm not sure how that sets it apart from other GLPs.

Edit: I attempted to sign up on Meso-rx, but apparently new accounts aren't being accepted at the moment lol.

Take a look at this place. You'll find a whole area specifically for reta, and there's a ton you can dig into there. Reta is genuinely solid. Google calling it experimental just means it hasn't gotten FDA approval — but plenty of supplements and some protein shakes haven't either. They scare people off until they can put it out themselves at 10x the cost.

Still, ALWAYS look into things yourself. Be certain about what you're putting into your body.

Not exactly identical.

Things like protein shakes that are sold as consumer packaged goods must still come out of GMP facilities operating under HACCP, and every ingredient has to be either GRAS or, at the very least, self-GRAS backed by a third party endorsement.

With supplements it works the same way. A given supplement product does not get FDA approval, yet its ingredients still have to be GRAS...in niche areas such as prohormones it gets messy, but I will not go down that road.

Anyway OP, welcome.

All I did was repeat what a video showed me, haha.

It's up to you where you get it from—this is the Internet.

Maybe I'm an actual food scientist collaborating tightly with a group of regulatory specialists, or maybe I'm making up intricate falsehoods to win undeserved credibility.

The first thing I gave up was soda, and that was a few years back. Going to the gym is what keeps me eating clean — I'm not about to waste all the gains I put in the work for.

Reta works well, but tirz also performs nicely—and tirz costs less while handling food noise more effectively. Among reta users, the most frequent gripe is that food noise comes back, to the point where some stack a low dose of tirz alongside their reta. You'll come across claims that the two shouldn't be paired, yet in practice it works very well, according to numerous clinics and people who made the switch from reta to tirz. Should food noise—cravings, constantly thinking about eating—be what you struggle with, Tirz could be worth a shot.

Honestly, the subject we were on isn't something I care about much at the moment. What I do is rely on basic reasoning plus bits of info picked up from whatever videos happen to cover a given subject, and I'll chat about it that way until the point where it actually matters for me. When that point comes, then I dig in properly.

Personally, carbonated beverages have given me trouble while I've been on Reta. I'd be interested to hear whether other people have gone through the same thing.

I used to drink diet coke, but that's done with. These days it's basically water all day, with electrolytes that I sip.

I went through something comparable on Sema. At 28 years old and 4'11", my starting weight was 220 lbs. Sema took me down to 130, but once I stopped, I climbed back to 180. January is when I began Tirz, and honestly it has been great. The loss feels slower for sure, yet I'm dealing with far less nausea and tiredness. This time it comes across as much more manageable long-term.

Reta crossed my mind, but food noise is something I genuinely need help with. To me, Tirz sits nicely in between Sema and Reta.

Other peps exist that you could look into for weight loss support, Cagrilintide being one. I've held off on it, however, because fatigue isn't a side effect I'm willing to gamble on.

Right now I'm taking tirz and food noise is still present for me, though I'm using compounded as well and plan to introduce reta at a microdose

Hey OP, I'm pretty fresh to this space too.

Right now I'm using Reta (1.5 months in) at a very small dose, yet the results have been solid so far — roughly 6kg gone during that stretch. Subclinical hypothyroidism made dropping weight really difficult for me, so this marks the first time in years that I've actually shed some pounds, and also the first time I'm not constantly feeling like I need to eat. It feels like it keeps my drive going.

For a few years I was in the same boat as you (thanks a lot, epidemic, lol). Obviously, for people like us, shifting how we live matters more than just relying on peps and other meds for weight loss.

Begin with what you eat: if you skip your daily protein target and barely train, you'll shed a lot of lean muscle. Sure, grabbing fast food is simpler than making your own meals, but every supermarket stocks healthy ready-to-eat options that make it easier (+ where I live it costs a little less than fast food). Cutting out soda and other sugary items, plus limiting fat or excessive carbs, helps too.

What I've come to understand is that our bodies essentially never adapted to handle the sheer volume of easy fat, carbs and sugar we take in these days, which means we have to keep watching how much we consume.

I hope your path through this treats you as well as it has treated me, and that you reach the goals you're after!

Exactly! I'm adjusting what I eat, aiming to take in more high-quality protein, include healthy carbs, and limit added sugar as much as possible!
