Hello all. Finding this community feels like a stroke of luck.

My mother — she's in her late 70s — convinced me to give Reta a shot, and I've now been using it for 5 weeks. GLP-1s struck me as dubious at best, but my mom is genuinely inspiring when it comes to health and wellness (some might call her a bit eccentric). She takes zero medications, covers a couple of miles on foot daily, uses a rebounder, and shows up at the gym. Over the past 10 years, life has thrown enough at me that I let my weight and wellbeing slide further and further, while she tried everything she could to make me pay attention. Once she got into experimenting with peptides, she became a full-on evangelist, and after a great deal of pestering and arm-twisting, here I am.

Within the next year, I want to reach my goal weight and make an attempt at resolving chronic pain left over from a number of sports injuries I had when I was younger. Above all, I want my mom to reach 80 without the fear of having to bury me before she goes. For the first time in years, I feel hopeful that I can pull it off.

I'm eager to read and absorb as much as I can. If you have any new-to-Reta stories you'd like to share, I'd love to hear them.

Your mum seems like a real legend. She did a great job steering you this way — GLP-1s genuinely change the game. Now that you’ve joined, you can look into other things that pair with it and completely reshape you.

Your mum's progress really is remarkable — it proves that age doesn't have to hold anyone back. Truly motivating.

My situation was reversed — I was the one pushing my mom toward peptides. She was dealing with several issues, some tied to weight and some not. It took a lot of pleading, and I even paid for her supply myself, before she finally said yes and started noticing a difference.

My mother is truly remarkable! I hope to grow old the same way she has. Picture someone at 79, on zero prescriptions, with virtually no bodily issues. That's the kind of aging we should all aim for.

Your mom is the person I want to become! My parents are 50 and they’ve already given up, which is really sad to witness since they were health fanatics about 10 years back. Wishing both you and your mother all the best on your health journeys!

In the end, was your mom able to improve?

I appreciate you asking, but honestly I can't say for sure — she's incredibly busy and stubborn in a way that drives me up the wall. Still, my guess is yes. If I'm counting right, she's on her 7th dose now, which means she's still early in the whole process. That said, she told me she's dropped a minimum of 10kg. When she began, her bloodwork came back with severe fasting glucose and extremely severe insulin resistance, and the doctor warned her she was on a direct path to type 2 diabetes — or possibly already had it. She also gave her word that she'd get blood tests done regularly and step things up, but between her massive workload, she never manages to find the time.

It's really wonderful that your Mom pushed you toward this change. The affection comes through clearly in your words, in both directions—yours toward her and hers toward you. I'm cheering you on and wishing you success in reaching your goals. Can't wait to hear more of your journey as you move forward.

We're 100% behind you and your journey. Together, we can absolutely do this. I only began tirz a couple of weeks ago, though I've been researching peptides for two years.

My mother is in her early 70's, and I wish she would be more receptive to peptides. She's a healthy woman overall, not really overweight, and she keeps active, but somehow her blood glucose has become pre diabetic and she hasn't had much luck bringing it down. It wouldn't surprise me if reta would help, but she'd never consider it.

I'm hoping your mom sticks with it and sees better health as a result. My own mother recently received her bloodwork, and the results came back basically excellent. Her cholesterol runs a little elevated (it's always been like that for her), yet it has still dropped 30 points over roughly the past 6 months. Her A1C sits below 6. Her doctor joked with her that she'll make it to 100. I wish the same for your mom.

For me it's the reverse. My mum has diabetes and weight issues, and I'm attempting to get her started on Reta.
Feel free to tell others about my mom. Her latest bloodwork came back and the results are incredibly strong, particularly given that she is 79. Sending your mom my best wishes.

Her dedication to her routines is genuine, and at this point they've become automatic for me too. In her view, the key is arranging your schedule so that no deliberation is required—you simply follow through.

It amazes me — I know plenty of 70 year olds, and I honestly can't picture even 1 of them having any idea what a peptide is, much less Retatrutide. Your Mom definitely has a youthful spirit. Wishing you the best with your health journey.
