Hi there,

I'm a guy, 38, living in California, and I began Reta 6 weeks back. Diet and exercise have never been a problem for me, but as I've gotten older, food noise and binge eating disorder have become too hard to beat. In that respect, Reta has been incredible—it's changed my life.

I'm glad to be part of this community and to begin talking about peptides of all kinds, not only GLP1's.

SW: 230 CW: 215 GW: 185?

For reference, I'm 6' with a BMI around 30%.

I am not on Reta yet either, but diet and exercise have worked for me too, and I also find the food noise plus "cheat day" binges a real problem.

Anyway, glad to have you in the club!

What was your starting dose, and where are you at now? I'm just wondering. Yesterday I placed an order for my first batch. My idea is to begin at 1mg for week 1, possibly bump to 2mg after that, then remain at 2mg to observe the results.

My starting dose was 1mg, which worked really well for me. The only thing I noticed was feeling tired every now and then, nothing else. I kept that same dose for 4 weeks, then moved up. Now I'm on 2mg, and getting 2000 calories in has become difficult, so staying at this level for the foreseeable future is likely what I'll do. If binge eating and emotional eating stay away, there's no reason I can see to go higher.

That really helps. In that case, I’ll likely remain on 1mg for longer than 1 week.

Welcome!

Over 5 years I dropped 45kgs without any medication. Currently I weigh 85kgs (187lb). Another 6-10kgs is what I'd still like to shed. For about a year now, 85kg has been where I'm stuck. Any idea how reta could be of help to me?

What's it been like dealing with Reta's side effects? Right now I'm using tirz 2.5 and hunger isn't really a thing for me—I have to remind myself to actually eat, which feels bizarre at such a small dose. I went ahead and picked up my 5 mg plus some extra supply, so I'm covered for now. Still, I keep wondering about Reta since I've heard it does a better job at preserving muscle—and losing muscle is something I really can't risk!

my own personal experience is all i can talk about, but what’s worked for me is the drop in appetite and the quieting of food noise. Reta wasn’t picked because of any particular rationale—I’ve never used another GLP1—it was simply what I could get, and once I looked into it, the risk felt acceptable to me. I 100% recommended doing your own research between the different options out there and decide what fits better into your goals.

Side effects for me haven't been severe overall. Oddly enough, the day after day 2 following my shot—so day 3—brings a bit of a stomach ache, and tiredness really knocks me out. The rest of the week? No issues at all, nothing noticeable. This was true even when I was on 1mg of Reta. Getting to 2k calories takes deliberate effort now, which is a change I've had to get used to. That said, I've come across posts where folks say they didn't feel anything until they went to higher doses. Maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones.
