I don't have much weight to shed, but now that I'm in my 50s, I've made up my mind that a change is necessary. Originally, I planned to obtain a "mild" steroid to drop some pounds while preserving (and adding) muscle. As I dug deeper into that, I ended up on various r/ pages, which ultimately brought me to this place. I told the guy to cancel my order because I was going to take a different path. So here I am, trying to soak up as much knowledge as I can about everything. I suspect I might have ADHD, since whenever a subject grabs me, I devote all my time to reading everything available on it. I'm hoping to begin my journey soon. I asked my MD about a script for tirz but I don't "quallify" so I'm looking to find my own way.

Whichever roid you decide to use, be prepared for the possibility of significant adverse effects...

Should you want something milder to support your muscle progress, my suggestion would be CJC-1295/Ipamorelin. Progress comes slowly, yet within a few weeks you ought to notice changes in your body composition. CJC/Ipa is usually tolerated well, with only mild side effects.

Tesamorelin and IGF-1 LR3 offer somewhat greater benefits, though they come with somewhat harsher side effects.

Each of these 3 can move you forward on your journey!

One more suggestion: if your body hasn't been well cared for over the past year(s), start with SS-31, TB-500, NAD+ and GHK-Cu FIRST so that every system is running at its best before you add the other peps for maximum output (just my personal opinion.)

If you're already healthy and in good shape, jump right into the others I listed above!

Welcome to the community and take care!

What's your take on the Tesa/ipa blend, or would you rather go with cjc/ipa?

Right, Anavar was the one I had my eye on at first. I told my friend not to pick it up for me because I'd decided to try a different path. Stats-wise: 5'11", roughly 210 lbs, and a prior hydrostatic body fat test put my lean mass near 163 lbs. That makes me think dropping 20 to 30 lbs would land me in good or even great shape. On the physical side, both shoulders are somewhat banged up and I've currently got tendinitis in both elbows. Sugar is a real weakness for me, so my intake is far too high. I've managed to diet down into the low 200s several times, even touching 199 for a day or 2, but I keep sliding back to the 210-220 range. I intend to go through everything you brought up, and I appreciate the feedback.

I'm on a cholesterol-lowering medication and would prefer not to be, so I went looking into whether there's an alternative I could pursue.

When it comes to Tesamorelin, my knowledge is pretty limited. With CJC/IPA, though, I'm aware that 100-200mcg taken twice daily, every day, is considered quite safe. Progress comes more gradually, but you can start noticing a change somewhere around 3-4 weeks.

Honestly, I'm in the same boat. I'm still quite new too 😅 But it's already clear to me that putting in the effort to research before starting anything changes things a lot. A lot of people these days just chase trends without looking into protocols, side effects, what to expect, labs, diet, training, or how these compounds actually work.

And honestly, that habit of hyperfocusing and reading everything is probably a plus in communities like this 😂 I've been doing the same thing recently.

Recently I've been digging into metabolic health, appetite regulation, inflammation, body recomposition, and long-term sustainability.

You're definitely in the right place. As another newbie, I've already picked up a lot just from reading discussions here 🙌

Never touched T, but R brought my LDL down over 8 weeks, on top of nearly 25lbs
Do you figure that comes from R on its own, or from carrying less weight?

So I was chatting with a colleague who's already 2 mo into R, and I wanted to know their dosage. They told me 20, which honestly sounded insane to me. I asked, you're on 20 mg? They confirmed, but mentioned they're dropping back to 15. I pointed out that the first month is supposed to start at 1 to 2. Turns out they were actually drawing 20 units, so the real dose—once I figured it out—was from a 10mg vial that lasted around 5 weeks. Now I think they've got a 20 mg vial, so they kept the same 20 units, but that now equals 4mg, and I doubt they realized they just doubled their dose. It hit me that I already know more than them, and I haven't even begun, while they're 2 months in. Just blindly doing things with no real education.

That's a solid question, and I can't give you a precise figure. All I can say is that I've come across material suggesting glucagon receptor agonism may boost metabolism in a way that impacts LDL.

A month plus has passed since I wrapped up a steroid cycle, and right now I'm on pct. The goal is to keep the boys functioning and hold onto a portion of what I gained. About 3 weeks back I added reta, and the weight is coming off. Luckily my strength is holding steady, and physically there's only a tiny difference (likely just my own perception) — my wife insists I look identical. For the longer term, could cjc/ipa assist in preserving some of that mass?

CJC/IPA can help you hold onto muscle, or at minimum slow down how much you lose, but it takes weeks for the body to adjust before the effects really kick in.

IGF-1 LR3 is another option (it acts throughout the body and is best used right after training), as is IGF-1 DES (which only works where you inject it).

CJC/IPA can be combined with either LR3 OR DES (not both at once; doing so is redundant and raises the chance of side effects).
