Hey everyone! Like the title mentions, I'm a 29-year-old guy, 6'0" tall, and I tied the knot roughly 6 months back in January 2026. My wife and I are expecting our 1st child—a baby girl—this November!

Roughly 2 years back, I was at 290lbs. I managed to drop to 220lbs pretty fast (around 6 months) by using GLP-1s from a men's health clinic. Once I hit that goal, my weight went up and down for about 1.5 years. I was using the meds inconsistently, and all I understood was the "units" marked on a syringe—I had no clue about the mg dosage, etc.

So, about 6 months before the wedding, I got serious again and stayed at 220lbs for the big day… but then came the honeymoon… and after getting married, I've put on around 60 pounds… awful.

I'm not going to be an overweight dad… I want a long, joyful life and to see my kids grow up! I want to play with them, keep pace with them—everything dads do…

Time is running out, so I've chosen to explore peptides. Thanks to this forum, I've got a plan set up and I'm hoping to feel like myself again before the baby arrives!

Thanks to all of you for your efforts. I'm thrilled to be on this journey with you!

Welcome aboard, and congrats on the wedding as well as the baby girl you have coming! 🎉👶 What a thrilling stage of life to be stepping into.

It also seems clear you've already shown yourself that big changes are possible once you set your mind to them. The fact that you're showing up here now, ahead of fatherhood, with the words “I refuse to be a fat dad” — that's one heck of a motivator.

And go easy on yourself regarding those last 6 months — weddings, honeymoons and huge life shifts can knock routines sideways without much effort. What counts is that you've seen it and you're doing something about it today.

Hoping things go well for you on this path. Keep posing questions, move forward a bit at a time, and keep in mind that this is a marathon, not a sprint. November is going to arrive faster than you expect, and you'll be handing your daughter the best gift there is: a healthier, more energetic dad. 💪🏻

Great news about the wedding and your daughter on the way. No need to be hard on yourself. You've ended up in a solid place. With peptides, tackle a single issue before moving to another. Once that one feels under control, move on to the following one. Steady effort will do more for you than huge changes followed by huge setbacks.

Putting in work on yourself ahead of the baby's arrival means you'll be a fantastic Dad!

Congrats! Our third just arrived. For me, Reta combined with Mots-C has been helpful, particularly for energy. Chances are you'll be exhausted for at least the first 2 months. Grab sleep whenever possible, and I've noticed that keeping lots of healthy snacks around really helps when the low-sleep cravings hit.

Nice work on baby #3! Funny timing — my first Reta dose was today. My plan is to bring in tesa and mots-c right away, aiming to preserve gym energy and target visceral fat. Like I mentioned earlier, I can't wait to see what comes next. Seeing others in comparable circumstances using peptides the way I plan to gives me confidence.

Congrats on tying the knot and on the baby on the way. It's great that you want to take charge of your health and "not be a fat dad". I just wish I'd come across these meds (tirz/reta) sooner. I'm 48, a father of 2, and I've carried extra weight for far too long. Thanks to the meds, I've been able to manage my weight, actually enjoy going to the gym, get my drinking under control, and generally feel a whole lot better.

I'd guess plenty of people here can relate to what you're going through. Stick with it — this community has done a lot for me. With 3 kids of my own, I feel really lucky to have come across this community; it's played a role in my effort to get my health back and buy myself some extra time here. If it weren't for GLPs, I honestly can't say where my health would stand right now.

The "long happy life, watching the kids grow, playing and keeping up with them" part.. that really got me... Same goal here. Chasing my future kids around without being wiped out after 5 mins is exactly what I want.

Here's to us becoming healthy, fun parents!

I'd also include Cagrilintide (0,25mg) alongside reta
I'm on my second day of reta at 1mg and I can tell something's shifting. The food noise hasn't fully gone away (sort of), yet I haven't given in to it. Zero binges, and I can actually "say no" — pretty wild, even if it turns out to be all in my head.

Hi!! I also just tied the knot, on June 1st! And honestly, that post-wedding stretch is no joke—my whole impulse is to consume, drink, and just bask in being joyful, festive, and smitten. BUT for you especially, with a baby on the way! That's such a huge milestone to honor (assuming having kids of your own was something you wanted!), and in my case, any celebration automatically means eating.

My hope is that this path works for both of us. Speaking for myself, I've got to shift how I relate to food—rather than tying emotions to it (whether celebrating or feeling down), I want to pick up the skills and get familiar with the tools so that food becomes something I use purposefully!

Almost forgot—WE'VE GOT THIS!!

Man, I can relate to this completely. Things shifted in a major way for me once I got going. Carrying extra weight made it tough to stay active with my 3yr old, and we were expecting our next baby at the same time. I got started just after my daughter arrived, and these days I can run around and match both kids step for step, like I'm in my early 30s again. Since beginning, I've dropped 30+ pounds and I feel amazing about it. It's great that you landed here. This forum holds a huge amount of helpful material. The people on here are incredibly supportive. Best of luck, and whenever you need advice or have a question, we're all around to help.
