Hey everyone. I’m a guy in his mid 40’s. Peptides and GLP-1s aren’t exactly new territory for me. Through keto and weight training, I dropped roughly 80 pounds, from 300 down to 225. To maintain that loss, I started Mounjaro. After six months I stopped, since my coupon ran out and insurance wouldn’t pay.

Sadly, all the weight came back following a diverticulitis flare that nearly killed me, plus colon resection surgery that removed fourteen inches of my lower intestine. Not long after, I had rotator cuff surgery too. I’ve finally healed completely, but I’m at my heaviest ever. To reach a healthy weight again, I need to shed around 100 pounds.

I’m hopeful about starting over and eager to pick up whatever I can to support this journey. I’d like to be a help not just to myself, but also to my wife of 20 years, who is right now in treatment for stage IV metastatic breast cancer.

Appreciate the welcome! 🙂

Hey everyone, I'm going to need to pause my journey as well. I've heard that restarting after a break doesn't give the same results. Once you're back on it, could you tell me whether the same amount still feels the same for you?

Hey man, welcome aboard. Honestly, that's an enormous amount to endure… I'm really glad you came out the other side. Just the diverticulitis plus those surgeries would take most folks out of commission for quite a while. Still, having dropped 80 lbs previously tells you plenty — you already know what works, even when it's rough having to begin again from scratch. Given everything your body was handling, the weight returning is understandable. The upside is you're recovered now and back at it, and typically once momentum builds, it comes off faster than you'd think. I'm sorry to hear about your wife and all she's dealing with too… that's a ton on your plate.

Absolutely. If this aging memory of mine cooperates, I’ll do my best to come back around!

Appreciate it — setting all that aside, I hope those health issues get sorted out. I'll be stopping before long as well, for health-related reasons.

I appreciate it. My plate is quite full right now, and that’s one reason I’m working to take charge of my health again. Being physically capable of looking after my wife is essential, and I treat that responsibility with the utmost seriousness. Thanks for the kind welcome!
