My name is Spencer, I’m from St Louis MO. Early 40’s. My weight has been way up and down all my adult life, after being very heavy all of my childhood. I’ve always struggled with overeating. The only diet I ever had success with was keto, which helped me lose a lot of weight in a relatively short period of time. I also felt great on it. Unfortunately I also felt very limited in it in terms of what I could eat, and it became such a hassle that I moved away from it. I started on semaglutide last year, didn’t have much success and didn’t like the way it made me feel. I felt like my appetite was still just as strong, but after I ate I just felt like shit. Then I switched to Tirzepatide in May of this year, and I’ve had a decent amount of success. I’m down about 30 pounds so far, but I also feel like I’ve plateaued. My weight hasn’t budged much in about a month, and my appetite is coming back slowly but surely. I’m currently at 15 mg, so I’m pretty much topped out at this point and I don’t feel like it’s helping like it once did. One main positive thing though is that my overall choices have gotten a lot better, even as my appetite has returned. I tend to avoid pigging out, even at the end of the week when I know I can do it and feel okay. Taking the shot has helped train my mind to make better choices, which is great. But as the effects of Tirzepatide wear off, I’ve considered switching to Reta as I hear that’s even more effective. I’ve still got at least a month or so or Tirz left so I’m biding my time and researching what the next move should be. Maybe a short break from the shot is what I need? I’m here to find out. Anyway, thanks for reading! I’m happy to read any opinions on this, and happy to talk more with anyone who wants to share their experiences. Thank you!

Welcome! I also started with Tirzepatide, I've since moved onto reta and feel like tirz's hunger suppression is best. It's hard to say what a recommended next move is for you, but reta does seem like a good next step. If you really benefit from blunted hunger, you might want to consider stacking with cagrillintide, as reta's hunger suppression isn't as strong as tirzepatide.

Aside from the shots, how does the rest of your weight loss journey look? Are you getting exercise and paying attention to macros? Sometimes we still need to be on track with these things to continue losing weight.

I hope the forum helps get you the answers you need!

Hey Spencer, welcome! I'm also new here.

My story is kind of like yours, with only seeing success with keto. I couldn't keep at it because well, I love carbs so yeah keto is such a hassle 😅

I'm also new to the peptide space so I can't share any experiences. But good luck to the both of us!

Thank you! Yeah honestly I have no problem staying carb free during my normal work week, but on weekends impossible to hang out with friends and do anything that doesn’t involve carbs lol. Whether it’s drinking, going out for dinner, catching a movie where I love getting popcorn and soda etc. It’s just too much.

I will have to look into cagrillintide! Hadn’t heard of that.

The rest of my journey is going alright. I’m really good at hitting my 200 grams of protein a day, and I stay between 2000 and 2500 kcals which is a decent deficit for me as I’m a pretty big dude - 6’4 and currently 350. I think my main setback is drinking on the weekends. I usually only drink once a week but I tend to drink quite a bit when I do. I suppose I should tone it down, but it’s hard once I get going. I’ve been getting back into lifting weights which is going well.

Have you personally used cagrllintide? If so, do you care to talk about the effects it’s had?

Yea the drinking could be slowing your progress down, I've heard anecdotes from people who say stopping the alcohol really helps.

As for myself, I have not tried cagrillintide, I ended up bumping up to a higher dose of reta (currently at 9mg) and I think the hunger suppression at this dose is sufficient for me. If I was taking a lower dose I'd think hard about stacking.
