Sometime near 2012, I fell into a devastating drug addiction. Then in 2016, at 20 years old, I managed to receive help and have remained sober ever since. The past 10 years have taught me a great deal and given me room to grow. There was one area, though, that never changed: my physical condition.

I spent a very long time trying to better anything about myself that I could. It was only last year that I finally turned attention to my physical health. In early 2025 I set out on a path of losing weight and lifting weights. Five days each week I started visiting my university gym, and results began to appear. Combining weight training with calorie counting produced a HUGE change in how my body looked. That sparked a strong fascination and enthusiasm in me for physical health. Watching my body transform brings me joy, particularly when I think about how overweight I was at the start.

As with so many people, Peptides keep coming up in conversations, on social media, and in other spaces near me. That caught my attention. Before long, I came across this forum. I haven’t taken the plunge into this yet, but I’m eager for what’s ahead!

Also, saying hello from Alabama =)

Hey Dirty Harry, it sounds like you're heading in a positive direction, and discovering this community should give you solid support as you keep building a healthier way of life.

Have you already started looking into anything yet?

What kind of support are you hoping to find here? Losing weight, staying in recovery, boosting energy, or something else?

Hey IronPaw. Research-wise, I've already gone pretty deep! Truthfully, I tend to pick up these little "hobbies" and end up falling down the rabbit hole. Small, niche communities are something I always enjoy discovering. Mechanical keyboards were one of them a while back — building them, switch varieties, the lubing steps, all of it. These days, the peptide world is what's caught my interest.

My first small batch of Reta has already been procured, and a few days ago I took my first dose with amazing results! The starting amount was 1mg, though I might bump it to 1mg twice per week rather than the 1mg per week I had planned.

That said, lately I've been dealing with some minor physical injuries and sprains from weight training. Probably just part of getting older haha. So I've naturally begun reading up on BPC/ TB. Should my new source turn out to be legit, I'll likely grab some on the next order to see whether it helps with these sprains and joint issues.

All in all, weightloss and recovery are my goals for now, I guess. But I have a feeling those horizons will broden as I keep going down this rabbit hole haha. And you? What brought you to these fourms?

Glad to hear that — the amount of research available just keeps piling up, one Rabbit hole leading into the next 🕳.

Based on what I've looked into so far, my suggestion would be to pin just 1 time per week and titrate up to 2mg, hold that for 4 weeks, then reassess. The half life sits at roughly a week, and it takes 4 weeks before the full dose effect kicks in, so personally I wouldn't bother splitting doses until I was pinning above 4mg per week.

I had weight to lose and a friend put me onto Reta — total game changer! That same person also pointed me here as the best place to find information.

At this point my research covers weightloss, mitochondrial repairing, better sleep, recovery, memory/focus and so on.
