Hi everyone! Really happy to have landed on this forum. A few years back Semaglutide worked well for me — I dropped 20 pounds over 6 months, came off it, and put all of it back on plus extra. Restarted in March of 2025, spent 2 months on Sema, then moved over to Tirzepetide. Tirz is brilliant. Total game changer. That's 46 pounds gone across 11 months, which leaves me 9 pounds short of my goal.

Now I want to give Reta a go. The metabolic upsides I keep reading about are exactly what appeals to me, and I'd use it for these final pounds and then for maintenance — I suspect I'm in this for life. Long before any of these, I was keto, deep into fasting and training constantly, and still couldn't shift weight. Perimenopause (falling hormones) plus a lot of stress left me dealing with high cortisol and insulin resistance on top. Tirz handed me back a metabolism that actually works — calories in versus calories out finally adds up, which was never true before. At home they tell me I'm far less grumpy and hungry, happier and more relaxed about food. Big fan of these peptides.

I came here because of Reta: any guidance from people who moved over from Tirz would be welcome, along with favourite vendors and how to prep it. Thanks — looking forward to being part of this community!

Hey CaptainPaddlePaws! I just joined as well, and I'm using Tirzepatide too! This peptide has been a total game-changer and I feel so grateful for it. Just like you, I'm hoping to learn more about reta -- from what I've heard, it might do a better job at preserving lean mass and muscle? Possibly? Fingers crossed. 🤞🏻 Wishing you the best on your journey!

Hello and welcome! Being this near your goal is a big deal — congrats 👏

Lots of members here will see themselves in what you shared, particularly how Tirz brought back a “functional metabolism” for you. When insulin resistance and cortisol were the underlying obstacles, that’s the same way plenty of us put it.

Your point about Reta being worth a look for the last bit and for maintenance is right on. From what I’ve seen, people moving over from Tirz tend to fare best going slow and cautious — frequently staying on Tirz at a low dose at first, or stepping down bit by bit instead of making a hard switch. Hunger control may come across differently, yet over time a lot of people mention improved energy, body composition, and a better metabolic “feel,” particularly when they’re already near their target.

Perimenopause plus stress is quite the pairing, and it sounds like the lifestyle side is already well handled on your end. These medications aren’t a substitute for that — they simply allow it to finally take effect, which is a huge relief.

You’re certainly not the only one who suspects maintenance will be long term. Many of us think along those same lines, only with smarter, lower-dose plans once weight levels out.

Can’t wait to hear how your Reta journey goes, and I’m glad you’re here — this really is a great community.

Absolutely! Keeping my muscle matters to me! I'm 9 pounds away from my goal weight, yet I really don't want to drop any additional muscle — I train 5 days a week aiming to be sculpted. Hopefully Reta will be a good fit.
