Male, mid 30s. My entire life, fat has stuck around in the same spots. After putting on weight and going through binge eating, Im giving Reta a shot to see if it makes a difference. Up to now, it appears to be working. Every 3 days, I take .6mg. What brought me here was realizing I likely shelled out 10x the cost for my two 10mg vials, so Im after a source and open discussion about these products.

nearly all people shelled out a significant amount for that initial vial

0.6mg every 3 days is definitely on the lower end. Nice work easing into it. You'll probably be moving up to 1mg per injection or more before long. The only issue I ran into was when I increased to 2mg — I ate a fairly large meal and then hit the sack too quickly. Found out the hard way that's not a smart move!

not sure 0.6mg every 3 days really counts as a low beginner dose lol. my own start was 0.5 for 4 weeks, then on week 5 i bumped up to 0.75 mg reta. down 10 lbs so far. im taking it super slow since this stuff hits me really hard. that 2nd 0.5mg injection knocked me out 😆. honestly no idea how some of you manage 2-3mg shots

For most people, that is completely sufficient to begin and to start seeing differences—I didn't intend for it to come across any other way.

Welcome!

Reta changes lives. My own Reta journey began last year, and so far it ranks among the most valuable health-tools I have ever tried. From day 1, my routine has been a single weekly dose.

I'm in week 3 now. My starting dose was 1 mg, and I've been adding 1 mg each week with no real issues. For a while, I plan to stay at this level. Dosing varies a lot from person to person, and the product's quality matters too—it can be too much or not enough.

Nice work so far! What weight did you start at?

Appreciate it, man! It seems to be working already, from what I can tell. I'd gotten to a point where I sort of stopped caring much. Stuffing myself with the worst junk food. The number on the scale kept climbing, and I could see my usual trouble spots getting larger. So far my appetite has clearly gone down, and I'm feeling full much much faster. Honestly, before this I never really felt full — I'd just keep eating until I was finished, then maybe reach for something else. Hopefully this keeps up and I stay lucky enough to avoid any bad experiences.

When it kicked in strongly, what was that like for you?

Absolutely, @BillC - keep in mind that starting low and increasing gradually is completely fine! I suggest this approach to everyone I know, and it's never caused any problems. The worst thing people do with this is rush their titration or assume that higher doses are always better. Stick with the smallest amount that gets you toward your target, avoids any unwanted effects, and remain at that level for as long as possible!

All day long I had the sensation of being extremely stuffed, and on top of that there was a lot of gas accumulating in my stomach. Nausea never showed up, which I was glad about. My plan is to remain at 0.75 mg until I stall out, and after that I'll increase to 1mg. At this point, even though hunger still hits me on this dose, it's giving me a big hand in steering clear of snacks and junk food. I've gone through body recomps multiple times in the past with zero assistance, so this time around I only required a small push.

I realize everyone reacts differently, but at 0.5mg/week did you notice any effects at all? Yesterday I gave myself my VERY first 0.5mg injection. Yesterday and today I still ate quite a bit lol

That said, you mentioned your second 0.5mg dose felt different. In what way?

And how did things go when you bumped up to 0.75mg?

My plan is 0.5mg/week for the first three shots, then 0.5mg every 5 days for roughly four doses, and after that go up to 1mg. But now the micro increase has me interested.

You could look at it as a good thing that reta affects you more strongly than it does most people, since that means you'll need to spend less money before reaching your goal weight. Then again, perhaps your vial has a lot more in it than it's supposed to? That's something worth thinking about!

Reta has a half-life of roughly 144 hours. That means when you inject once per week, whatever remains from earlier shots accumulates. For example, a .5mg dose followed by another .5mg dose 7 days later produces blood levels above what .5mg alone would give. Since washout takes longer than 1 month, the doses you took before will strongly shape how you titrate. =)

There's no universal response. At 6'5" and 235, .5 has been working well for me up to now - sensitivity varies a lot from person to person. Still on the same dose in week 3. My view is that starting LOW and increasing only when necessary is the right approach for everyone.

Definitely... beginning at the smallest amount that still produces effects is always the smartest route. Bad experiences with peptides and other injectables are never reported by those who ease in gradually.
