Little back story.... I'm brand new to the world of peps, I've heard the term before but never really paid attention. A friend of mine was diagnosed with lymes a couple years ago, and at one point his doctor prescribed terz to help with inflammation, he went down the rabbit hole on research and ended up finding out about reta, lost weight (he was not obese, maybe just a little on the side of dad bod) , felt significantly better and started telling me about it.

I'm on the lower end of the obesity scale (per bmi), 5'9" as of 2 weeks ago I was 206lbs. I decided to give reta a try, started 8/7, 0.5mg Mondays and 0.5mg Fridays, working out ~3hrs a week, combo of weight training and cardio (mostly weight training). The lowest I've seen in the last week was 194 on 8/14, not sure how much of that is actual weight loss and not just fluctuation, but I've hovered around the 200-220 weight for most of my adult life, even when I was in the army and doing physical training 5x a week. Never been "fit", always had a bit of a beer belly. I don't really drink, but junk food has always been a weakness for me. I'm currently trying to figure out a diet that works for me, I travel for work and spend typically 4-6hrs a day driving, plus 6-10hrs a day working in facilies that don't always have break rooms/microwave/refrigerators. I started drinking huel for breakfast for a quick/easy protein/fiber boost in the morning, snacking on pumpkin seeds, cashews, chomps (beef sticks), and occasionally I'll bring some cottage cheese. I try to have some sort of solid protein (meat) as a main meal for lunch and dinner.

So far I feel like the reta has definitely helped me eat better, I have had a couple days were I just couldn't get rid of my hunger, but I've also had days where I was so busy I forgot to eat (and then tried to stuff myself before bed just to get protein intake).

Does anyone have any suggestions for me, weather it be diet, excersize, or anything, to help me remain successful in my goal to lose weight, but also not lose all my muscle?

Let me preface with - I have ZERO peptide experience and only 60 days worth of research under my belt. AND, I am a big believer that we are all unique and requiring different protocols to reach our goals. That being said, I'm happy to share my health improvement toolbox. With the caveat - again - I may learn these strategies are not adviseable while taking peptides (I simply don't have that knowledge at this point).

I am a big fan of fasting. Now - I fully understand that muscle loss and protein intake are focal points while on peptides (so I hope I don't get flamed for this). But the mental benefit I gained from installing fasting protocols have been life changing for me. The junk food cravings (and particularly sugar cravings) can be quelled over time by carb reduction and time restricted feeding. Now, you metioned protein rich foods - so you seem to be atuned to the focus on protein. I'll say, once you get your system to easily switch back and forth between dietery intake and body fat - you have cleared what was - at least for me a major hurdle.

With that, I would consider backing into your protein goals and trying to fit them into a 16:8 fast:feed protocol.

Finally, ALL of the above may be of no value. So, if that's the case, allow me to suggest one - very small - modification that I am certain will be beneficial. If you replace the pumpkin seeds with dry roasted edamame you drop 120 calories and gain 3 additional grams of protein for the same serving size 😎

Best of luck - I could use the same

good luck! keep going nice and slow on Reta and keep that protein up. at least 150g a dar of protein, which will probably take like 50g of supplementation. the way you keep as much muscle as possible

This is awesome. Do you mind sharing if you went FDA or grey market?

To stick to your goals and help lose weight but not jeopardize muscle loss. Agreed with the previous comment. Try and eat 200g of protein a day, it sounds like a lot but it’s really not. I knock out almost half of my daily intake just at breakfast.

I’ll get a serving of nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt 17-20g protein and add a few scoops of additional protein and bump that up to a total of 50-60g. With taking in so much protein, just be sure you’re getting your fiber too. You’ll shred fairly easy!
