I’m a male, 62 years old.
At 5’8”, I stay in fairly decent shape. A kidney transplant came my way 15 years back — the donor was a family member who was still living. (Yeah, complaining about anything in my life really isn’t something I’ve earned…each day is borrowed and a gift….though as a human, that thought slips my mind at times)
Roughly half a year ago, the scale showed about 195 pounds.
Losing weight was the aim. I’m consistent with working out — cardio and weights. The pounds I wanted gone just refused to budge.
With some fear, I brought up one of the weight loss drugs to my Nephrologist. Her response was that she considered it a good idea, and she pointed me toward Zepbound. Three months in, 20 pounds were gone, but I felt drained and saw my muscles had basically vanished.
Throughout that time, my Zepbound dose stayed at 2 1/2 mg.
Once those first three months passed, I stepped it down to 1 mg. Getting some muscle back and feeling excitement about life again was what I wanted. While on 2 1/2 mg of Zepbound, my pleasure seeking behavior had kind of faded.
Since dropping to the 1 mg, that has improved somewhat. Around 5 pounds came back on, though I believe it’s mostly muscle. Usually I run on a small calorie deficit.
According to my Nephrologist, using a GLP longterm is beneficial for me. Even at a small dose.
After looking into things, this week I chose to begin investigating Reta at 1mg.
Once I started with Zepbound, down the rabbit hole I went and have investigated : Semorelin, IPA, Tesa, GHK, TB, and BPC.
Health, longevity, and being as physically attractive as an old guy can be — those are my goals.
There’s an American peptide company I’ve ordered several times through and they have been very good.
I’ve been researching about other options to buy research products.
Biggest problem, is trying to figure out how to pay for the stuff without a credit card.
The fear of crypto and Venmo is real for me.
But I will continue to research it and I’m sure we’ll get more comfortable with it.
YouTube videos are something I like to watch, podcasts get listened to on my Apple phone, and Reddit is a place I go on as well.
After losing the weight I did, I definitely feel better. My energy is much higher.
Losing another 10 pounds, continuing to add muscle and getting leaner — I think I would really feel fantastic.
Thanks for reading!
