Hey all, just as the subject line indicates, I'm new around here and figured I'd say hello!

At this point I've dropped a bit more than 30 pounds, and over the past several months I've been digging into GLP-1 drugs as well as other compounds, Retatrutide in particular.

I'd say my path matches what a lot of folks go through: the initial goal was shedding weight, getting healthier, and establishing habits that last. Somewhere along the way, I got genuinely hooked on the science side of these medications, plus nutrition, training, and ways to hold onto muscle while cutting fat.

Right now I'm concentrating on fat loss that can be maintained, eating plenty of protein, lifting 4x per week, and keeping or adding muscle while the weight comes off.

Excited to pick up things from all of your journeys, post my own updates, and pitch in however I'm able!

If you'd like, my intro post can be found by going through my profile.

I'm curious—do you currently use a GLP? If yes, which one? For most of my life I've been what you'd call "fat-skinny," paying hardly any attention to nutrition or exercise.

About 3 years ago I put on 30 lbs, and since then dropping that weight has been a struggle. Following a stroke and finishing PT/OT, I went back to Pilates after roughly a 15 year pause. Thanks to sema (which I can't stand!) plus a fresh outlook and more activity, I feel more in charge of my life than at any point before!

I went and read your post — I was born and raised in Central PA, fairly close to Harrisburg, though these days I live in Texas!

Funny enough, my story lines up pretty closely with yours: an injury, then being started on SSRI's, and over roughly 5 years I put on a significant amount of weight.

Right now I'm on Retatrutide and I'm really happy with it. I can still hit my daily calorie and protein targets, which keeps my energy up for workouts and for everyday life. On top of that, it's wiped out nearly all of my food noise — fast food and the junk sitting in the pantry just don't cross my mind anymore.

I'm sorry to hear about your stroke, but it's good that you're in a better place now! If I have any questions I know enough to answer, I'll be glad to help!
