Hi all — I just joined, and finding this community feels like a genuine relief. My weight has gone up and down for years, and thyroid problems have made the whole thing harder to manage. I've cycled through plenty of methods, but staying consistent and holding onto the results is where I keep struggling.

A bit of history: for just over a year I used compounded semaglutide from a local pharmacy, paying roughly $225/mo. The result was around 20 lbs lost, though the pace was frustrating and the expense didn't seem justified,... and then all of it came back inside 6 months. This January I had a full round of labs done, and for the first time I was told I'm pre-diabetic, so my doctor and I agreed to switch to compounded tirzepatide. By my 3rd injection, I had welts and itching over my whole body. Because semaglutide had never caused me problems, we doubt tirzepatide is the culprit — it's more likely a component of the compound (benzyl alcohol is the leading suspect, since my sema didn't contain it). For the past month I've been chasing clear ingredient lists from pharmacies so I can steer clear of whatever triggered the reaction and restart! I'm fed up with the delays and the price. I've sourced my own HCG, LDN and other things before, so I went looking and came across this forum.

What I want is real user experiences with peptides (mainly GLPs, though I'm also interested in others), and I'll pass along whatever I pick up and how my own situation develops. If anyone can point me to solid "start here" threads, I'd appreciate it.

I’ve cycled semaglutide on and off, and at 2mg I dropped more than 100lbs across 2 years. I definitely became accustomed to it, and it quit working for me. After a 4 month pause, restarting it led to more loss. As of last week, I’ve just made the switch to reta, hopefully. In my view, a break definitely assists, but the timing matters a lot—you need to keep eating clean when your appetite returns, plus get in plenty of extra exercise if you can. Good luck.
