Hey there!

A 33 year old woman here, living in Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

Medication caused me to put on weight, and I've spent over two years attempting to shed it. It's definitely been tough, largely because last year I underwent two operations that really hindered my physical progress. I wasn't able to exercise. One was a neck surgery, and they also took out my first rib lol. I asked to keep it since it seemed neat, but it fractured a bit on the way out, so now it's just sitting in a tiny jar and honestly looks pretty nasty, haha.

Anyway, I was and still am coping with a lot of pain. I'm seeing my physiotherapist for it. Progress is very slow, though.

I gave ozempic a shot through a private clinic for 3 months, but it cost around 300 euros each month, which was insane. Right when it began working well after 2-3 months, I had to quit because I was heading to Japan and needed the funds for that. That was a bummer, well, not Japan of course. The ozempic kept working for about 2 weeks while I was in Japan, so I ate less there, but that wasn't ideal either, since I adore the food and it's a shame I guess not to savor more of it during a visit.

But yeah, I'm not wealthy, I'm not working at the moment. My ex-boyfriend covered most of the cost.

I've been giving Mysimba a try, since my psychiatrist could prescribe it and then it's free for me. Sadly, it had no effect on me. I also completed a year of GLI, a lifestyle course in the Netherlands that's required if you want to obtain certain prescriptions for weight loss.

Last week I received a prescription for ozempic so I can pay less via the pharmacy, but I'm really eager to try retatrutide instead. I'm very curious about what's new out there and how everything functions.

Honestly, I just want to lose my belly fat, which is excessive and truly unhealthy. My aim is to drop at least 15kg. 18 would be ideal.

Right now I'm resuming my studies and trying to get back on my feet.

It's great to meet everyone and learn from you. Perhaps I can add something too, that would be wonderful.

Much love!

Glad to have you here on the Forum! Keep an eye out for continental café and EU details regarding resources and advice, since certain tried-and-true recipes are more difficult to obtain within the EU
