A woman wanting to grow her family, but very anxious about restarting glp-1's having been a slow responder sitting on the maximum dose.
Binge eating disorder has been with me my whole life. adderall was my crutch throughout, and on it I came down from 230 to 158 in roughly 6 months back in 2014. Then 2022 arrived, plenty of weight swings, and I had a baby. Up from 170 to 275 inside 9 months, then back down to 230, where nothing would shift it for over 1.5 years. In April 2024 I gave up fighting it alone and started triz - now I am back at 160, on 15 mg triz every two weeks as maintenance.
There is no way to describe what that has done for my life. Self image has been a battle forever... after my son was born I hated myself. Outings got skipped because I would spiral about how I looked and just wanted to stay in. Now I can put clothes on and not feel like crawling out of my skin in public.
My husband brought up baby #2 recently and that is what led me here. I do want another one, but the fear of losing myself again has pushed the idea back further and further, to the point where I have been arguing for stopping at one. And I do want another baby, and I know I would regret it enormously one day if I don't. Right now my worry is that triz won't work a second time, given I am already on the highest dose.
Only yesterday did I find out about this grey area, where things like Reta are an option. Honestly, I feel like an idiot for paying out of pocket for triz these last 2ish years. Enormous relief that there may be other routes open to me.
What I want to know: has anyone been in the same spot, did weight come off a second time after maxing out on triz, and did Reta help?
I would be lying if I claimed to be training - I have definitely lost muscle, so I wonder whether building some back before getting pregnant would help. Open to other people's thoughts and experience.
Also, is 15 mg genuinely the ceiling or can it be adjusted? This is all new to me, so please weigh in!
Thank you all in advance.
