A story we all know too well....began with Zepbound through my health insurance, saw amazing progress for several months, and then suddenly, the GLP coverage was cut off. After months of digging around, I found my way to 🩶. Looking forward to exchanging what I've learned with everyone!

Do you intend to switch over to Reta, or are you going to remain in the Triz world?
Tirz is what I'm sticking with at the moment. As far as reta goes, I'm still very much in the research phase. Have you ever tried reta?

nah, Triz does the job for me.

Right now this is the issue I'm dealing with: Triz does its job, yet my attention keeps drifting to ret
What if you gave it a try instead and reported back on your experience? Thanks ahead of time for volunteering as the test subject, haha. (Kidding. Sort of.)

Haha, the thought has crossed my mind — once I finish up with triz, I'll likely give it a shot. So how's Minnesota treating you? Minneapolis is where I'm headed in roughly a year.

I've called Minnesota home my whole life. This state has plenty of reserved, understated folks with Scandinavian roots. If you join a welcoming progressive Lutheran congregation, you'll blend right in quicker than you'd expect 😉. I live in the SW suburbs and I'm a mom—always glad to welcome new friends.

It's been 13 years since I relocated to the Minneapolis area, and I really enjoy how the scenery shifts from season to season!

My bet is that Cigna is the one you got moved to?

Back when I had Aetna, Tirz got approved for me. Then my employer changed us to Cigna and just like that, it vanished. Now I'm covering the whole cost out of pocket. 👎But honestly, it turned out to be a hidden gift! That's how I ended up finding these forums and STG!

Tirz works well, though plenty of people have told me Reta changes everything. For me, I use both and the results have been great. No matter what tirz dose you're on at the moment, my suggestion is to begin with Reta 2mg and then bump it up through trial and error.

Tirz is still on my plan, though things have kind of stalled at 7.5. Before I move up to 10mg of Tirz, I'm thinking about whether to bring Reta into the mix. What doses are you on for each, and how did you land on them?

From what I understand, the top dose that's been "documented" these days is 12mg. Go beyond that, and you're stepping into what the FDA considers risky ground 🙄🤣.

My starting point with Tirz/Reta was the smallest amounts: 2.5 of Tirz alongside 2 of reta. Not much happened. I felt like my usual self — constant food cravings, hitting buffets, raiding the fridge every 15 minutes. 😔 Back then I weighed 246lbs at 6'1.5, with body fat around 20%.

Things shifted once I moved Tirz up to 5mg while keeping reta at 2mg.

Roughly 6 weeks later, I'm running 7.5mg Tirz with 4mg reta. Dropped close to 40 pounds over the last 6-7 weeks.

Worth noting: I'm also on MOTS-c, AOD-9604 and CJC/IPA.

My suggestion is to look into those other peps/compounds. They make a difference!

Mots and AOD target extra weight and visceral fat, while CJC/IPA works to keep muscle or reduce how much you lose.

Combining Tirz/reta has been a total game changer in my case. Hope it does the same for you! If anything comes up, message me or really anyone here — these forums are packed with support, especially from the mods.

My coverage came through a standard employer-sponsored health plan. That said, I do believe Cigna served—and may still serve—as the TPA. For 21 years I worked for the biggest health insurance company in the US. The dirty little secret? The employer is the one calling the shots on executive and large financial matters...while the insurers get paid to "take the heat".
