Hi all,

A very active mid 30s guy, living in Germany.

Lifting and mountainbiking are my sports, and tech is a passion. Honest input that helps me make good calls, plus swapping experiences, is what brings me here.

Activity was never the problem — food, which I LOVE, was. The result is more bodyfat than is healthy. German private health insurance is the track I'm on. My first full round of Semaglutide (Wegovy) was covered by them. Great with a few hiccups, then straight misery once I reached 1.7mg. Anything above 1.0 and my body rebels, my stomach becoming satans sulphur pit, whatever I eat. Then the payments from my insurer stopped, and I have been fighting them for two years through what's called an Ombudsmann.

The last dose was 1.0mg, paid out of pocket, on and off. That holds me around 94-100kg, which at 1,83m with a muscular build is ok, but not great. Raising the dose sends me straight back to extreme symptoms, so that's off the table.

Reta is where I have moved to. Round two of 1.0mg went in yesterday. My gut feeling is that the earlier Sema use has left me partly resistant to that component of Reta, given how far through the roof my Appetite is. Everything is TASTY. An average of 10 bpm has been added to my pulse and I run warmer than usual — signs it is doing something, at least. For now the plan is to get more serious about meal prepping so high protein, satiating food is always on hand, stick with the lifting routine (4-5 times a week) and hit the trails whenever the mood takes me. Two more rounds of 1.0 and the step up to 2.0 will probably follow.

Stacking tesamorelin is on my mind, since the gut is where most of my blubber sits, but more due diligence is needed first — and the effects of Reta should set in before anything else changes.

Here's hoping for fruitful discussions with fellow one man researcher teams!
