hi all,

my weight has been something I've struggled with for years. Several years back I overhauled my lifestyle in a big way: eating high-protein and very low-carb, fasting on an intermittent schedule, tracking calories, and working out consistently. It paid off, and I dropped a lot of weight.

What I couldn't do was keep it off. Losing it was never the issue.

For a decent stretch I held onto that loss, but hunger was a constant battle. Sticking to a rigid routine with protein kept very high made it workable. The moment I tried shifting toward something that could pass as a normal, sustainable way of living, the hunger started coming back little by little. From there came more snacking, bigger servings, and in the end the weight came back. A busier life (with a young family in the mix) definitely played a part too.

Instead of letting it get me down, I'm going after it again. Diet and exercise have gotten me decent results so far, but my thinking this time goes past just hitting a number on the scale. What I really want to figure out is the maintenance side, not the losing side.

So here I am. I want to learn more about GLP-1s and related peptides, especially how they could slot into a long-term plan for keeping appetite in check once the weight-loss stage is done. I'm the type who wants to grasp the science underneath things, so I'm eager to hear from folks with research backgrounds as well as lived experience.

Looking forward to digging into the threads, picking up what I can from all of you, and adding something useful wherever I'm able.

Appreciate the welcome!

Been reading here for a few days and I am learning SO much!!! Compounded TZ is what I'm on and I've dropped a few lbs, but other peptides appeal too, for aging brain, bones, skin and so on. Plenty for you to learn here too I think!

In the past I've attempted to drop a significant amount of weight through calorie restriction, overexercising, and intermittent fasting. None of it appeared to work for me, largely because I would ultimately cave to the food noise. This year I finally started tirzepatide, and it amazes me that I'm not constantly craving food. Actually, I believe I think about food more consciously because I consider how I would normally be thinking about eating. Tirzepatide has genuinely been a key to success for me. I'll probably eventually switch to reta, but I'm worried about the reports of less food noise/apetite supression.

Welcome to the forum!

I'd really like to hear about your progress. I'm far from where you are — I've still got weight to lose — so learning how others manage maintenance and shape their routine around what works for them remains something I don't have a clear picture of.
