Hi everyone,

Before I start posting in the threads, I wanted to say hello. I'm from Germany. A quick rundown of where I stand:

About Me

  • Stats: 31 years old | 175 cm | ~107 kg. 5'9" (Height) | 236 lbs (Weight).
  • History: Obesity has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Keto worked for me at one point, yet the "yo-yo effect" keeps coming back around.
  • Fitness: Weightlifting is part of my routine and I carry a decent amount of muscle, though the stubborn fat is still there.
Health Status

  • Labs: To my surprise, my blood work is close to perfect—insulin, blood sugar, and every other marker sits well within the normal range; only cholesterin is slightly elevated.
  • Vitals: Blood pressure looks great. My resting heart rate (RHR), on the other hand, sits at about 76 bpm on average, which feels a bit high to me.
  • Sleep: Snoring is a big issue for me. No sleep apnea diagnosis so far, but I'm in the process of getting that checked.
My GLP-1 Goals At first I had my eye on Retatrutide, though I worry it might drive my heart rate up further. That's why Tirzepatide now looks like the more careful place to begin.

I'm eager to pick up things from what you've all been through and to post my own updates along the way. Glad to be here!

P.S. English is not my first language, so I ran my thoughts through an AI tool to keep them organized and readable.

Welcome!

Tirzepatide is genuinely remarkable — you won't be disappointed, I'm certain. I've been on it since september and the results have been excellent; it changes everything.

Welcome — and don't worry, your post reads perfectly clearly.

You're starting from a genuinely good position:

  • training consistently
  • labs broadly in range
  • the stubborn fat plus a touch of cholesterol still to deal with
Honestly, that's a strong place to begin from.

Your reasoning on Reta vs Tirz holds up too. Given you're already wary about heart rate, leaning toward Tirz as the gentler route is sensible. Nothing stops you shifting later once you know how you react.

Good instinct on the sleep apnea side as well — it quietly skews a lot of things (fat loss, recovery, heart rate included), so it's worth ruling in or out.

You're going about this carefully and sensibly. Happy you're here 👍
