Hey everyone! I've been reading here quietly for ages and rarely post. Normally I just search the forum when I need something. But today I'm feeling pretty annoyed, so I figured I'd ask for guidance in case someone can point me in the right direction faster.

Here's the deal: I'm a mother of 3 children. 2 of them are ill with identical symptoms. 1 came back positive for strep, the other negative. I'll do my best to leave my own feelings out of it and just state the facts: the same clinic saw both children on separate days, back-to-back, and 1 is getting antibiotics while the other is being denied them. I'm not usually a mom who pushes for antibiotics. That said, 1 has now had a full day of treatment, improved quite a bit, and is back to herself, which makes me think we really are dealing with strep throat. Since I know markets like this exist for glp's and peptides, I have no doubt there are sources selling antibiotics. I came across India Mart and sent in some inquiries, but I'm not sure how that process works. I wanted to ask if anyone has suggestions for sites or methods to get antibiotics so I can try to stop this early instead of letting it linger and keep exposing more family members.

I’d simply bring the child to urgent care and request a z pack. The physicians there tend to be more lenient about that. I wouldn’t attempt to source antibiotics elsewhere at this moment, particularly for a child.

I went through the same thing. Yesterday my daughter had identical symptoms and got a positive strep result at that urgent care, yet today they wouldn't give my son any treatment. To me, that makes absolutely no sense. I'm not after drugs — the most reasonable explanation I can see is a false negative, since testing may have happened too soon (he began showing symptoms around 10:30 PM last night and was tested 12 hours afterward). Even so, the doctor won't treat him.

Try telehealth. Explain the situation (leave out that your primary care wouldn't prescribe) and say you suspect strep, then ask for _________ (whichever antibiotic you want). I have honestly never had a telehealth (I call it DialADoc) turn me down when I asked for an antibiotic.

Handing your child just any substance seems risky to me. When a physician declines to prescribe medication, following that professional judgment is likely the smarter move — the underlying issue could be something entirely different, and neither you nor I have the expertise to determine what it is. The medical field operates with its own logic and protocols, and that doctor had a rationale for saying no.

On top of that, obtaining questionable products to inject or ingest carries personal danger. Even in your role as a mother, I don't believe you ought to be sourcing grey market items and giving them to your kids — they don't appear to be at an age where they can grasp the dangers or consent with full understanding.

I'm not trying to dictate your parenting, and I recognize you love your child and would go to any length to help them recover. Still, self-prescribing is absolutely not something I would do. Wishing you the best outcome.
