Desk job that keeps me sitting, largely working from home. For the past 2.5 years I've been doing BFT (similar to F45) 4–5 times per week.
Come Christmas 2024, my weight peaked at 140kg (BMI 37) — the heaviest I've ever been. My Apple Watch had also started alerting me to breathing disturbances. That's what finally jolted me into action.
Injecting anything was completely new territory for me, but I took the plunge and contacted a telehealth provider, who wrote me a script for Wegovy (semaglutide).
I remained on it for 11 months, then came off after my weight fell under 115kg. By that point I was on the maximum dose and struggling to get enough food in.
My healthy eating and training continued. I also gave CJC/IPA a go. Legally prescribed and compounded. The cost was absurd, mind you.
Starting in January this year, I began trialling Reta, Klow, and MOTS-c.
Right now I'm a touch under 110kg.
Routine body composition scans (not DEXA) put me at 26% BF, which is down from a high of 38%. Visceral fat has dropped a lot. I'm pleased to say most of my muscle has stayed put.
My trousers fit more loosely than they ever have, and I feel fantastic. The Apple Watch no longer warns me about breathing problems either.
Given that I'm now officially "just overweight" instead of obese, I intend to take things more slowly. The emphasis will be on body composition and health markers, especially getting LDL lower.
My latest bloodwork threw up some surprises. Serum testosterone had risen to decent levels, but SHBG increased by an even greater margin, pulling free test down to the bottom of the normal range.
TRT was offered by a doctor, but I didn't feel ready to sign up for that long-term. Instead I opted for compounded enclomiphene. Roughly a month in, and I'm noticing slightly more energy. Another blood test is coming up shortly.
This whole area was never something I cared about, yet now I'm utterly absorbed in fine-tuning. Eager to pick up knowledge from all of you here.
