Hi everyone,

Steve here, age 66. Over the course of my life I've dropped the same 60 to 80 lbs at least a dozen times.

A Pop Warner football team got started in my small town when I was 11, and even then I was above the weight cap for every age group (which went up to 14!). So at 11 years old, after school I'd jog around the park up the street, trying to shed 10% of my body weight.

At 13, my Dr. prescribed amphetamines. That didn't go well for me.

I entered HS at 14 at 240 lbs. I'm sure you can picture how that might have been for me. So I did Atkins (the 1st of many times) and dropped 60 lbs the following summer.

Naturally, the weight returned.

Keto and carnivore are where I lose weight most reliably, but I was persuaded to try the Engine 2 vegan diet and I managed to lose weight on that too. On ALL of these I also had to exercise A LOT! I'd ride my road bike 200+ miles/week, and when the roads got too full of angry people I took up running 30 miles/week. I've never been under 175 since 5th grade.

I have never managed to keep the weight off for more than a couple of years, as my carb addicted brain would always convince me that I 'deserve' to enjoy holiday foods/treats just like everyone else. Or we'd go on vacation and I 'deserve' to enjoy the food in Rome (or wherever). And once off the wagon it is REALLY hard to get back on.

Late last year I realized that I could try these new weight loss drugs just buying them online.

So January of this year I started a micro dose (.2mg) of Sema from Noom. Apparently I'm a hyper responder because within hours the food noise went away and I had to force myself to eat dinner. I went up to .6mg in 2 months and lost 16 lbs, however I got stuck for 3 weeks, and decided to try Tirz.

March through April I've been on Tirz 1.5mg twice/week, and I'm down to 174., however I achieved that in the 1st 5 weeks, and I've been at 174 for another 3 weeks.

So I added Reta to the Tirz; using Tirz for the appetite suppression and hoping for some fat burning from the Reta. I'm now at the end of week 2 of doing .8mg Reta twice/week along with the Tirz. I'll move up slowly to avoid bad side effects.

So far no bad side effects, and I feel ok. No real weight loss yet, but it's still a low dose.

I had also been feeling... flat perhaps, for the last couple of years. No real energy or even desire to do much of anything.

Late last year I convinced my urologist to try TRT, however pellet form was the only thing he was willing to try, at least at 1st, and it was only like $135 out of pocket. So I got them 'installed' about a week ago. No changes yet...

I would REALLY like to be what I consider 'lean' for once in my life before I die, so this is what I'm doing. I imagine I'll be on one of these GLP drugs for the rest of my life because I don't ever want the weight to come back. Now that I have this tool I'm going to use it.

I'm mostly eating carnivore as I'm very comfortable with it, and I feel good, although I might occasionally have an apple or some treat my wife made, perhaps some ice cream when we take the grandkids out for a treat, so not always in ketosis. I read about a few people having issues with ketoacidosis, however it seems like they were pretty much starving themselves AND dehydrated, so I'm not too worried about that.

Anyway, I'm here to learn about other peptides and what may work for me in the future.

I very much appreciate the people here who put this resource together and everyone who pariticpates and adds their experience.

It's good that you're at last finding some relief. Still, honestly, pick a single medication, titrate it upward, and be patient.

On top of that, pellets are awful. They deliver far too much early on and far too little by the end. What did your hormone levels show? Why won't he even prescribe the gel or cream?

I have no interest in raising my Tirz dose. Side effects are nearly nonexistent for me right now, and appetite suppression is working quite well. Taking low doses of both doesn't strike me as an issue, and should the results fall short OR should side effects hit me hard, I'll simply stop the Reta (or maybe the Tirz).

As for... my Urologist pushed the pellets for TRT quite firmly, for reasons I can't really explain, so that's the route I'm testing. His reasoning, based on what he's seen, was that with others living in the house, particularly grandkids dropping by (occasionally without warning), the gel could put those people at risk, so... now I've got them. How they work for me will become clear soon enough.

If the T gives me results I like, but those effects fade sharply after a couple of months (something I've read about happening to other people), then I'll consider bypassing the Dr. and getting T elsewhere.

Has the gel, cream, or some other T form been something you've tried?

Steve, that's quite a journey. Battling the same fight for 66 years and at last discovering a method that delivers results makes for truly inspiring reading. The problem of energy and flatness tends to get ignored by many, yet it seems you're now tackling it from several directions. I'll be keeping up with how things go for you here.

Nice work — it really sounds like things have been going well for you.

Should ketoacidosis happen to anyone, the culprit is that they're simply not eating nearly enough, which comes from stacking glp hunger suppression with keto, plus all that fat making whatever does get eaten sit in the gut for ages. When I combined the two, I literally had to make myself eat, and I leaned on shakes just to clear 1000 calories in a day.

Are you still on keto? That's my read, but I wanted to check:

Keto has come and gone for me over the years, but at moderate tirz doses — 5-7.5 weekly, or Reta around 4 — it felt like too much. Maybe I'll give the micro dosing approach you're using a shot.

When you say 'keto was to much at a moderate dose of Tirz', what exactly are you referring to?

Keto/carnivore is still my approach. So far it's working out well for me. Just today I raised my Reta to 1mg, taken twice per week; the Tirz stays at 1.5 on those same days and at that same time. With these amounts I can eat enough, while still finding it easy to remain in my caloric deficit.

For whatever years I have left, I don't see any reason to stop using some form of these drugs, provided it keeps working for me.
