INTRO Just joined, dexa scan done today

Hey man, welcome! I also got a dexa scan when I kicked off my weight loss journey. My reason for doing it was to keep myself accountable and get a real picture of where my body stood. Since I usually lift weights, I figured my body composition would be decent. As it turned out, I was at 37% body fat! After that, I chose to do them quarterly so I could track my progress. I'm 1 month in now and already down 10lbs thanks to reta. Now I can't wait for my next dexa scan. Keep up the good work and good luck with your journey!

Nice! Sounds like there's a lot we have in common. I'm pretty in tune with my body — I've been training on and off for as long as I can remember. There was a stretch a long time back when I was really consistent. Lol. For me, that DEXA scan was worth every penny; it handed me a solid starting point and lit a fire under me. For roughly 6 weeks now I've been lifting and logging everything. I've dropped a fair bit of weight, but injuries are holding me back, so I've shed quite a bit of muscle. At 210 and 35% BF, I'm the heaviest version of myself I've ever been! Stay with it — nobody else can do this for us. I can't wait to get going on some reta soon, and I'm lining up a bunch of blood work this week. Before I begin, I need to know exactly where I stand so I can confirm there aren't any red flags.

Today the first batch of results came in for me — only the urinalysis so far, though nothing concerning showed up. I'm hoping the blood work comes through soon.

Since the draw is done, I'll begin glow therapy on my knee. The supplies I picked up: .22 µm PES 4 mm sterile syringe filters, each individually wrapped, and I intend to dilute the solution somewhat so the copper is less likely to cause irritation.

If anyone wants to keep up or is curious, I'll keep sharing what happens in this thread.
