New here, coming from the Twin Cities area. For a few years I've been bouncing in and out of attempts to shed weight. I hit 50 not long ago, and while I still want to remain active and athletic, I've been carrying an extra 20-25 pounds compared to before. Having climbed rocks for 30 years, that extra weight works against what I'm trying to do. Noom was my first attempt, and it did take me from 170lbs down to 150lbs, but constant hunger made it impossible to maintain, so I rebounded to 170lbs fast. Intermittent fasting came next; I dropped 4-5lbs quickly, then hit the same wall of sustainability.

That said, alcohol has really been the main problem. I chose to look into GLP1s after hearing that they can cut alcohol cravings for certain people. Two weeks ago I began Retatrutide, and my urge to drink has dropped dramatically. For the first time since the Covid lockdowns, I went 4 days straight with no alcohol.

So far, two weeks in, I'm down 4-5lbs. Whether this attempt will work, I can't say, but I feel hopeful. Reading quietly on this forum has taught me a great deal, letting me make educated decisions about this path.

wow! that's amazing. I never knew Reta could kill Alcohol cravings.

From what I've read though, Reta isn't the strongest option for curbing cravings. If you want the ultimate appetite killer; tirzepatide is the one to try.

It's possible that the drop in cravings is all in my head. I was somewhat desperate for anything that would break me out of my unhealthy routines. I'm not sure, and I'm content regardless of what's behind it.
