Hey everyone! Joey here. GLP-1s caught my attention back when the whole Kendrick and Drake thing was going on. Weight has been an uphill fight my entire life — I even spent 3 months at a facility for people with eating disorders. About a year and a half back my primary care doc wrote me a Zepbound script, and I could never get it filled: my insurance refuses to cover it, and self-pay came to $550 every refill. I went through the whole dance — 'pre-authorizations', exception letters, even a sleep study my insurer asked for so I'd have a sleep apnea diagnosis (which left me with a $900 medical bill) — all in the hope they'd revisit an appeal to cover the script.
At that point I decided I'm finished playing by this system's rules, and I want to find a route outside of it. What I'm after is insight and guidance on using this stuff and on what to watch out for — and honestly, I'd already picked up a lot before I even registered. Truly, if anyone has tips or useful info for a guy with zero idea what counts as 'safe' or 'normal' with these meds, I'm all ears.
Appreciate the welcome!
