...the teacher shows up once the student is prepared.

I'm prepared, no doubt about it.

A married woman, currently not working after someone rear-ended my car. A few months back I'd hit rock bottom, wandering around feeling adrift and throwing myself a pity party. One long afternoon of doomscrolling later, I stumbled on a few YouTube videos. To make a long story short, those sent me searching on reddit, and that eventually brought me here. Being away from Facebook feels great—it's stuffed with GLP-1 pitches that sound like scams, all triggered by whatever I'd been googling.

Mounjaro and I have a small history. It started when I tagged along to my husband's endocrinologist appointment, and the doctor handed him a sample box of pre-filled pens—enough for 1 month. That box sat in our fridge for a while, since my husband despises Big Pharma and anything stamped with Eli or Lilly. At the following visit, when the doctor asked why the pens were untouched, some Philistine urge made me pipe up and say my husband was a "joiner" who required a "pal" for this journey. The doctor shot me a hard look, stepped out, and returned with a second box. (That shocked me quite a bit, since I'm not his patient.) I gave him my word that by the next visit my husband would be fully compliant.

My husband is thrilled with what the shots are doing for him. He's on 5 mg at the moment, and the food noise has vanished. The weight is coming off slowly and steadily. His doctor never actually told me to use the leftover shots, but I felt fine about trying them since my own doctor had attempted to get them for me. It went nowhere; our health insurance refused coverage. So it felt like a gift.

My weight loss is even slower than my husband's, but I don't mind. Losing a pound a week suits me. I'm patient and can play the long game. Besides, I don't want to drop weight so fast that I end up with the sort of stretched-out skin that needs surgery. Yet beyond the weight loss, what I love most is that my inflammation has dropped a lot, my body no longer aches the way it did, and I feel like moving again.

Asking the doctor for free samples can't go on forever, and buying from Lilly Direct is beyond our means. So I'll sit tight, mind my manners, and absorb all the great information on this site like a sponge. I've heard good things about retatrutide, but I figure that might be something to try further down the road, once our somewhat insulin-resistant metabolisms are running more efficiently. Also I've heard that reta (in some people, anyway) may increase appetite. I will be researching tirzepatide because that's been working very well for us so far. I'm taking the 2.5-mg shot, and even though that's not a therapeutic dose, it's working for me. I'm very grateful that my prayers have been answered. The future feels bright and promising. 😎

Thank you for accepting me into this community!

Hi!! I'm also a newcomer here...though not a newcomer to Tirzepatide or grey market peps.

The forums hold plenty of solid information...use this stretch under the newbie restrictions to browse what's on offer. I really enjoy how many different perspectives and insights people bring. Reddit can be a dumpster fire, I wont go there. FB is worthless. I have found this community and a couple others who have dedicated peptide people to bounce ideas off of.

Your husbands distrust of big pharma makes complete sense to me. That is exactly why I avoided GLPs for so long, I didn't want another pharmaceutical drug in my system. Desperation pushed me to dig deeper into GLPs and that is when I learned they were peptides and not typica pharmaceuticals....down the peptide rabbit hole I went.
