Hi

63M, here to learn about GLP use, Reta in particular. Never tried any GLP or peptides before. 6 ft 1in 210 lbs. Want to drop some weight and improve my shape. Getting older is a pain but it’s better then the alternative 😎

Your weight seems proportional. Tesamorlin or HGH 176-191 might be worth considering instead. Reta is injected weekly, while those 2 are taken every day. Tesamorlin targets visceral fat—the kind stored around organs and beneath muscle. My own approach was to start with Reta, then bring in Tesamorlin once I'd shed a lot of fat but my stomach remained large. Back then I chased a six pack, doing 500 sit ups daily, and still felt bulky. These days I understand that was visceral fat. Combining both is giving me outcomes superior to Reta by itself. Search for them online, or check facebook.

I'm in my late 30's, so somewhat younger than you, but my build is comparable: 6', 210lbs, and I'm just beginning Reta.

Ozempic is something I've already been through — I hated it, and the day after each injection I would throw up every time. Tirzepatide was the opposite experience: I loved it, and the sides were minimal.

Since Reta is the latest big name to arrive, I'm eager to find out how it treats me over the coming months.

Getting to roughly 175/180 is what I'm aiming for. At 185 I can hold a 6-pack, but what I'm really after is a very defined appearance.

For you, 190-195lbs might not be a bad target at all, depending on what you're after, and for someone your age it would be a realistic one.

Best of luck!

During the reta trials, a portion of participants quit treatment due to excessive weight loss. I myself made the switch to reta not long ago, after 3mos on compounded tirz. Tirz produced essentially no effect in my case, though responses vary from person to person. Should you decide to look into reta, the key principle is to start low and increase slowly. That matters even more when glps are new to you.

Liver fat reduction was examined in Phase 2 trials, and liver fat dropped substantially in over 80% of participants. Visceral fat is another area where reta may help, but every one of those benefits showed up at high doses (8/12mg) and only after 48 weeks.

One more point to keep in mind: lean muscle weight loss comes with all glps. Every one of them suppresses hunger, and in my own experience with reta there is zero desire to eat. Gastrointestinal side effects are comparable across them, so simply stay aware of that. What you'll want to do is make sure your protein and workouts are covered.

It might also be worth talking with your doc about trt.

Thanks

There’s a lot I’m eager to learn about all of this. The forum has given me plenty of positive reading so far. Before I actually take the plunge, I still have more homework to do. One step I’ve already taken is getting a crypto wallet set up, and now I’m checking out sources for the other supplies I’ll need (BAC, syringes)😎

Welcome!

Do you track your calories at all? Reta is new to me too, though I've been logging what I eat for well over a year now. It's a big help for pinning down which macros matter to you (fiber, protein, that sort of thing). Mind you, your numbers don't suggest you're carrying much excess. That said, wanting to be leaner is easy to understand!

Hitting 60 this year. Years back I went carnivore and shed 75# within 4 months, and I've kept body fat at 15% since. Still, I want to improve composition further, plus there are other possible mitochondrial advantages, so Reta has been on my research list for 4 weeks.

Begin with a low dose — honestly that's the only guidance I can give. Ease in, and give yourself room to become comfortable with that small amount, because it accumulates across the initial month (half-life and the peaks the day after matter).

Have fun with it, and let us know how it goes!

My mistake — I meant to say look them up on Youtube, not facebook. A number of physicians discuss peptides on Youtube, and I trust what they say more than the muscle heads who cover peptides on that platform.

When it comes to reconstituting peptides, beginning doses and similar matters, the muscle heads give solid guidance. They also know more from experience with many of the supplements. Doctors are limited in what they can say because their medical licenses have to be protected.

When you added Tesa, did it work well for shedding that stubborn belly fat? That’s where I store most of my fat, and a low dose of Reta alone isn’t cutting it for me. How much time passed before you noticed any changes?

Reta and/or Tesa have also caught my attention. I'll try Reta first, as its protocol appears simpler. When it comes to dosing, tesa is high by comparison.

Yeah, I'm going to ramp the dose up gradually. Put in the order for Reta today, and it ought to show up in roughly 2 weeks (fingers crossed). I'll share updates on how it goes 😎

Is it possible to use Reta alongside Tesamorlin? And if you have done that, did the Tesa bring on any side effects? Getting rid of stubborn visceral fat is definitely one of my main objectives.

Up to this point, nothing has gone wrong for me. Both a gym friend and I introduced Tesamorlin simultaneously, and as far as I can tell there haven't been any negative reactions. I recently got bloodwork, and my cholesterol dropped so much that I stopped my cholesterol prescription. This could be tied to the Reta and Tesa

My switch was from Ozempic over to Reta, and my weight climbed until I reached a weekly dose of 5mg, at which point the pounds started coming off once more. After Tesa entered the picture, the fat loss picked up speed. It didn't take long at all. There's no way I'd stay on it without seeing results, and per month Tesa costs more than Reta.

Figis1badcat,

It's a strong move to tackle your health directly, and from personal experience I know aging makes that much harder — respect.

As a certified personal trainer, here's some professional input if you're open to it: find a qualified trainer who can guide your fitness path. Peptides and medications can be powerful for dropping fat and pounds, yet they're only 1 piece of a bigger picture. At your age, a high protein diet, cardio and strength work would serve you well. You don't have to train like a bodybuilder, but you should keep challenging yourself in new ways to drive growth while fueling your body properly. Also, Creatine monohydrate is a cheap, safe and highly effective supplement that's easy to find, and nearly everyone — you included — can benefit. Costco has it for a low price.

Ask away if anything comes up.

At 5'11" and 263lbs, I ran into the same problem—age making everything harder. I used Reta and Tesa, and now I'm at 236lbs, lean, and feeling the best I ever have. Just go slow with your titration and don't hurry it; reaching my goal took a solid 4-5 months, but I had no side effects and feel fantastic.
