Hello from Ireland!

I've been using ozempic from the pharmacy since Xmas and dropped roughly 20kg. Since it was stalling, I wanted to shed a bit more weight without spending a fortune on the ozempic or wegovy, so I made the switch to Reta. My 1st dose was 4 mg (4 times the amount of wegovy I had been taking) and I barely noticed anything — I expected it to hit much harder. I just did my 2nd dose this week and honestly it seems like the ozempic might have been superior. Does this happen to others? Or did I end up with some sketchy product 🥴

Hey!

From what I went through during that short stint on Ozempic, reta didn't suppress my appetite nearly as much. Also, remember that Reta needs some time to accumulate in your body. I've been looking into it for 12 weeks at this point, and I get the sense that this is a solid place....plenty of things to work on beyond just the weight! Keep pushing forward and we'll make it!

Starting at 4mg right away is quite aggressive, even if you're transitioning from Sema. Normally, 2mg is the maximum dose people begin with. As you've likely gathered, Reta works quite differently from OZ. Sailorman already pointed out that during titration it takes 3-4 weeks for the drug to accumulate, so you shouldn't bump up more often than every 4 weeks. Reta doesn't suppress appetite as strongly, but it does activate the GIP and Glucogon receptors, which sets it apart. To repeat, beginning at 4mg is pretty aggressive. I doubt anyone would advise you to raise your dose at all for 4-6 weeks, giving it time to stabilize and for you to observe how things go. Best of luck.

began at 2mg weekly, dividing it into 1mg doses on Mondays and Thursdays, then increased step by step until reaching 6mg now, taken as 3mg and 3mg....the results have been more positive so far, though this is a marathon rather than a sprint and everything hinges on how I feel. I also brought Mots-c on board, but only lately, as something to look into. for what it's worth, my weight at the start was around 305lbs, and 12 weeks later I'm sitting at 284lbs.

Edit to add: I'm also using an app to track my estimated levels and progress, which has been great.
