Hi
I just joined — completely new here. I'm a guy in my mid 40s, and for basically all of my teens and adult years I've carried extra weight.
When I finished HS I weighed 265, and a couple of years later I somehow got down to 185 for a while. Then the pounds crept back, at first gradually and later fast. At my heaviest I believe I reached 290. There was also another stretch in my late 20s or early 30s when I lost weight and got to roughly 200. Afterward it drifted back up to 265, and that's where I stayed for a long time.
Then, in my late 30s, I began TRT. It did improve my composition, but my weight never budged from 265.
When I turned 40, I felt I had to move more, so I took up training bjj. That helped me shed about 30 lbs in a year. Now I'm stalled at 235, even though I train 3-4 bjj classes and lift 1-2 days each week.
I began reading about glp meds, and my big worry was ending up skinny fat. As I kept researching, I came across the progress people were making on retatrutide and thought it might suit me.
So my aim here is to learn about that and other choices, so I can at last drop this weight and stop having it hang over me.
