Hi all,

Figured it was time for a proper intro. Mounjaro (tirzepatide) has been part of my routine for roughly a year. I hit my lowest point having dropped a fair amount of weight, but then a two month pause let about 5kg creep back on, and right now I'm on 5mg, hoping to get the scale moving downward once more.

Some background: I gave reta a brief try at one point. Truthfully, I felt nothing from it. Nothing at all. Whether that came down to a poor supplier selling diluted product, or me not sticking with it long enough for it to kick in, I can't say. That's the trouble with this space. Because of that whole episode, I'm pretty wary about the grey market. The savings are huge, no question, but so are the dangers if you cut corners.

Since picking tirz back up, the losses haven't come yet. My appetite swings between high and low, not starving but picking at snacks. Annoying, since I recognise exactly how it feels when the medication is doing its job.

So here I am, unsure which way to go. Should I stay on tirz, ramp the dose up correctly once more, and simply have faith in the process? Or take another shot at reta and stick with it for longer this time?

I've also been looking into NAD+ and GHK-Cu for inflammation, recovery and general anti ageing support. At night I get deep dull aches in my legs, which I think might be inflammatory. I'm not trying to stack a bunch of things carelessly, just working out what could genuinely pair well rather than chasing hype with my wallet.

Would love to hear from anyone who's faced something similar, particularly if you've moved between tirz and reta or brought in things such as NAD+ or GHK.

Still learning, still cautious, just trying to make smart decisions.

Thanks 🙏

Hello and Welcome. Reta hasn't been my start yet, though I plan to, since Tirz is already at its top dose for me and I've sat on a plateau for 4 months.

How long back on Tirz are you, and did you resume at your previous dose, higher, or lower? Plenty of the forum posts I've gone through say that restarting Tirz means titrating up again to feel the effects, or adding something in.

I've been back on it for 6 weeks and I've only worked my way up to 5mg. There was a big part of me that wanted 5mg to be the dose where everything clicked once more, since that's the point where I dropped the most weight the 1st time around. Looking back, I likely titrated up too fast simply because other people were doing it, and I never gave my own body's response any credit.

Last time, my losses did taper off going from 7.5 all the way to 15, though I kept losing — the pace just wasn't the same. Money was the biggest factor in why I quit, so finding a cheaper option has been a real relief. I just don't want to put in an order for 1 thing when the other might be the better call.

It's also very much on my mind that once you've gone to reta, there isn't much left to step up to. So I keep wondering whether I should simply raise my Tirz the right way, stick with a higher dose for a good few months, and find out what happens rather than switching again.

My Reta journey began in Sept, and the results have been solid.

When Nov came around, I decided to stack in some Tirz after reading that it could assist with certain cravings. Things have gone well. Since the 6mg Reta dose was giving me side effects, I lowered Reta down to 4mg and brought Tirz into the mix.

Based on what you've been through, it seems like your Reta might not have been up to par. Perhaps you could try another batch that comes with a COA?

Honestly, I consider myself fortunate with my purchases. I've ordered from both a US-based company and one in China, and both seem to have delivered real products because they clearly do the job! For close to 6 months now, food noise has been completely absent, and I couldn't be happier!

I happened to respond well to Tirz. I did 2.5mg for 5 weeks, then moved up to 5mg for another 5 weeks, and at that point 5 was simply too strong for me, so now I'm at 3.75mg. If you've already been on 5 for 5 weeks, it may be the right moment to increase your tirz. With a half-life of 5 days, 5 weeks is generally enough for accumulation to be essentially complete.

Today I tuned into a podcaster who stirs up a lot of debate in the GLP1 world, and both of these topics came up. Controversial figure, yes, but the science he presents holds up well.

At the risk of repeating myself, please make sure every factor that drives GLP1 success is truly locked in: proper nutrition, consistent exercise (strength work above all), quality sleep, staying well hydrated, and so on. With Reta, appetite suppression might be less obvious, particularly early on, because glucagon ramps up metabolism = you'll probably notice more hunger since Reta alone can have you burning an extra 200-300 calories daily. Without nutrition locked in, overeating becomes very easy, even when it feels like you're hardly eating.

On combining Tirz with Reta, from what I've read they can somewhat cancel each other out, so running them apart is preferable, and if stacking ever becomes necessary, something like cagri would be the choice.

Thanks, that's genuinely useful. I suspect the stuff I had was either low grade or a diluted pen. I didn't use it for long and barely noticed anything, which caught me off guard considering how much hype it gets.

Six months without food noise sounds unbelievable, and honestly that's the exact thing I'm after. MJ was great for me early on, but the effect clearly isn't the same anymore.

I'm trying to stay level-headed, since once you switch to Reta there isn't really a further rung to climb. My thinking is I ought to give Tirz a proper push again first and see whether I can regain momentum before making the change.

The accumulation explanation clears things up. Six weeks back at 5mg means I ought to be at a steady state by now.

Rather than jump to Reta, I'll bump up Tirz the right way and see it through for a proper stretch first.
