I recently shed a large amount of weight by using a GLP-1 (retatrutide). I'm now near my goal.

The problem: I barely had any muscle to start with, so my body composition is pretty poor.

It's been years since I trained regularly. My plan is to begin lifting and address that while keeping the weight off.

I joined to figure out:

  • how to maintain weight loss after GLP-1
  • how to transition into building muscle
  • how to avoid regaining weight

Going through posts and picking things up.

I'm just getting started here and want to hear what others think.

It's been years since I did any training.

After being overweight, I recently shed a lot of weight (retatrutide was what I used) and I'm near my target now. The problem: I barely had any muscle to start with, so at this point I come across as somewhat "skinny fat," with a body composition that's basically a blank slate.

I'm on the verge of beginning to lift and putting together a routine entirely from zero. My diet is in check, and I intend to raise protein and calories little by little.

What I can't decide is whether to simply follow a standard lifting plan without any extras, or to look into options such as:

  • CJC + Ipamorelin
  • Tesamorelin
  • Or whatever else people believe genuinely fits at this point

The aim is straightforward: gain lean muscle while not wrecking the progress I've already achieved.

If you were someone with essentially no muscle base after losing weight, what would your approach be?
