Just putting up my first intro.

My grey market Reta run began in Nov, driven by the broken healthcare and insurance system. I’m not obese. What I wanted to fix was rising Hba1c, type 2 diabetes, and a useless MD who refused to prescribe a GLP to head off type 2, yet had no problem continuing a drug cocktail that wasn’t doing the job.

WOW! Just WOW. A month ago I quit his type 2 cocktail. And I’m holding steady near 52. Oh, and I also came off BP meds, with consistent healthy readings of 115/68.

Thanks to the forum members for the info and for sharing.

yep, glps crush a1c, and i figure they helped several other issues for me too. however reta leaves my skin extremely sensitive. my stack is below

Wow, that's fantastic! I'm really looking forward to giving Reta a go myself, though my reason would be shedding pounds!

For slu-pp-332, did you use a capsule, or did you reconstitute it?

Thanks, that's really useful. I've just moved over to reta from semi. Using it for weight loss.

Tirz gave me that same skin sensitivity too. My guess is it comes with the GLP-1 territory.

Congratulations. I want to shed some weight, though my main goal is getting my blood pressure out of the pre hypertension range it's currently in, so hearing this is encouraging.

My experience with skin sensitivity was much the same...for the majority of the time. I don't really know the reason, but after I'd been on it for 3 months...it stopped. The coldness and sensitive skin are no longer there. My guess is my dose was too high. At 5mg it wasn't helping with food noise and such, only causing side effects. So I dropped down to 2mg and it seems to be working well at that level.

That's truly fantastic!! It proves you're handling your own "medical practice" more effectively than the person with an MD after their name 😉

Wow, what great outcomes! It's really encouraging that there are genuine health gains to go along with the cosmetic differences 🙂

My situation mirrors that. Once I lowered the dosage, both the sensitivity in my skin and the intolerance to cold got much better. Injection site reactions also went away for me. My reason for cutting back wasn't those side effects though—it was that my appetite was suppressed so strongly and I was dropping weight too quickly. Preserving muscle becomes really difficult when eating beyond 1200 calories makes you feel nauseous!

My time with reta has been really positive up to now. My weight loss has gotten faster because of it. Beyond that, I notice an improvement in how I feel while taking it.

Appreciate everyone. I'm not combining anything—Reta is the only thing I'm running. For anyone curious, here's a deeper look at what I went through personally.

Athletic guy in middle age. Fitness has always been part of my life in some form. For the last 1-2 years I've been lifting and doing cardio 5-6,days weekly. Come Sept- 5'11. 205. Clearly not obese…There's some muscle there, but also a bit of soft dad bod. A sluggish metabolism has plagued me, and I've spent years battling climbing Hba1c. On top of that, hypertension and BP have been issues for years. Every diet you've never heard of—I tried them. Supplements, snake oil, all of it. Zero results. Probably DNA, it runs in the family.

For a few years the doc had me maxed out on Metformin plus BP meds. Instead of improving, things crept worse. By Sept I was 1 tick away from an official Type 2 diagnosis. BP sat around 142/98. I'd read Zep worked well for diabetes, so I asked my MD about trying it. Nope, he said. Only once I'm officially diabetic. Or after I gain enough weight to be obese. I pushed back..if this stuff works, where's the preventive medicine in that??

Sorry, the MD told me, insurance and the practice won't allow me to prescribe it. In Oct I got determined, started researching, and found out about Reta, gray market, and so on. Eventually I landed on this helpful forum.

Reta began for me at the start of Nov. 1mg 1x/week. Broadly I stuck to the clinical recommendations. Microdosing wasn't part of it. Every few weeks I titrated up. Jan had me at 4mg, then 5mg/1x week by Feb. Each bump brought minor GI trouble for a couple of days, then it cleared.

Blood labs and BP checks happened every few weeks. By early Dec my Hba1c had gone from mid 60s down to 57. BP came out of pre hypertension. Meds continued regardless.

Short version. Jan is when I quit the meds.

Last week's numbers: Hba1c 52, BP holding steady around 115/67. My metabolism is on fire. I love it. The wife was shocked at results. My physical well being is changed by this stuff.

Ohh, and a surprise side effect that wasn't my goal… 28 lbs gone, 3 inches off my waist, a six pack appeared 😆 and at last I could see muscle that had been hidden under that extra dad bod for a decade. Wife loves that too lol.

Curious whether the MD says anything about the current numbers at my bi-annual in six weeks. Those knuckleheads will probably assume their scripts are finally working.

May you all be blessed equally with great results.

The starting point was 3mg, while 8mg is described as the optimal amount. Cag gets paired with reta frequently in what I see, yet simply wanting food feels like a battle. Cardboard would honestly be preferable to me. Eating, when it happens, takes forever—sometimes hours. For now I plan to remain at 5mg, and perhaps make a full change to Cag after I reach my target. I'm not especially heavy, so with my work season beginning it ought to move quickly, particularly alongside an exercise mimetic. The ara addresses the neuropathy, which I also require for a separate condition, so I figured it would handle 2 things at once. I realize muscle is being lost, but seeing it through matters, and I need to build a maintenance plan. The sensitivity makes sleeping genuinely difficult, and I'm trying to train my mindset to recall that it's only in my head, though winter doesn't make that easier. The rest arrived only recently, so all of that is still new.

Almost 2 months on Reta and I've lost a lot of weight. Getting my A1C down and my fatty liver improved is the main thing I'm after, so I plan to keep titrating up. Currently at just 3mg per week.
