Hey everyone! After spending quite some time reading the forum without posting, I've finally gone ahead and registered.

A bit of background... I'm a 37-year-old guy, and through diet, exercise, and staying consistent I managed to drop just over 100 pounds naturally, going from 280 lbs down to 175 lbs. That's something I feel good about, and every routine blood panel I've had has come back within normal range. Still, like many others, I've hit the stage where the remaining stubborn spots are far tougher to lean out.

I've been looking into reta for a good while now, and I've gone through a lot of threads here to put together a solid plan before I ever begin. My aim is a 12+ week run, but first I want to be certain I've got a handle on correct dosing, titration, side effects, and safety overall before I dive in.

Peptides are still very new territory for me, so advice from anyone with experience would mean a lot. If there are typical missteps that first timers run into, things you'd wish you'd known at the start, or thoughts on dosing schedules, which blood work to keep an eye on, supplements that might be useful, or what to realistically expect, I'm listening.

Just from reading everyone's experiences I've already picked up plenty, and I'm eager to keep learning. Thanks ahead of time for helping out a newcomer!

Reta will help you drop additional weight. However, it doesn't target visceral or belly fat specifically. To get rid of belly fat, think about adding a GHRH stack such as Ipa+Cjc-1295 or ipa+tesa alongside Reta or Tirz. Training is essential. The GHRH stack will make you hungry, but ignoring it isn't too hard. Within a few days, you'll adjust. Every day I inject ipa+Cjc-1295 No dac at 05:AM and fast until 12:00PM. That alone has been the key to shedding belly fat throughout my entire journey. I still have a bit more to lose, but no more than 1 kg. SW:102kg CW:73,5kg.

Hi there ! Well done on shedding the weight ! Same as you, I’m keen to understand more about dosing and, truthfully, restitution as well ! I’ve put in plenty of research too and I’m confident this forum holds all we require and then some ! Best of luck to both of us !

Been lurking just like you, though I've been kicking around the grey side of things for a while! So welcome, from one lurker to another! 🙂

Some background on me: 37 as well. 5'11". Build is average these days. I'll keep it brief. Back at 21 I weight 260lbs. I was a heavy kid my whole life, genetics and the way my family cooked. Then at some point my metabolism apparently woke up, or so I assumed, because 20lbs vanished out of nowhere while I ate and lived exactly the same way. No explanation, but I used it. Through my 20's I ran, badly and constantly. Took it too far and dropped to 145lbs. Course corrected, settled around 165/170, a healthy weight with decent comp, and stayed there a good while. Then years pass, kids arrive, training falls off, habits slip. At that stage my only aim each day was keeping the kids alive and hoping I would survive them. More years, shifting circumstances, some bad calls, and by early last year I had drunk and eaten myself into an unhealthy lifestyle and a weight of 220lbs. Having been the heavy kid, having fought my weight all through my 20's, that number on the scale found the softest spot there is. So I told myself, no. Not happening. I put in far too much work during my 20's and my kids are still little. There is no option here, things change NOW, because I need to be in the best shape I can manage for THEM. Never mind every relative I am supposed to outlive. Never mind what it takes inside you to lose them all. Again. There is no option. I had no option. This had to happen.

Then came my own situation, mixed with a bit of envy and a lot of curiosity about my ma being on compounded tirz. Down a very very very deep hole I went. It began as basic research, making sure whatever my ma was taking was helping her rather than hurting her. From there I started wondering how I might get some for myself. Maybe give it a try. Cutting another story short: for a few months there I had......grossly overpaid for compounded tirz. I just didn't know it at the time. No regrets regardless. That very first tirz pin at 2.25mg had me convinced I was about to drop dead? Everything after it was a miracle. Day 1, food was the last thing I wanted. Honestly it repulsed me. Further down the road that stops being a good thing. Outside that first pin I had no side effects at all. Zero hunger, and the weight simply DROPPED! Shocked. Amazed. Instantly.......hooked. Problem was the price, which I could not quite cover then, and really not the month or two after. So I stayed on compounded for almost 3 months until other routes opened up.

Deeper still into the grey rabbit hole.........I was on tirz and hunting for alternatives. Turns out the hunt turned up more than alternatives. One item in particular. Reta. Naturally. The hot new thing. Now my curiosity climbed another notch. If tirz performs like that, what is this capable of? I should have stopped while I was ahead but......I couldnt. These days I'm a researcher. Researchers, do research. I want to run some research on this stuff, too! AND.......the price was better. WINNING.

So I moved off compounded tirz onto grey reta. Tirz was a far more.......pleasant ride, yet I don't regret the switch. Even when there was no real reason behind it beyond wanting to try something different. Had I stuck with tirz instead of switching to reta, my guess is the outcome would have looked very much the same.

Grey reta dragged some grey realities along with it. Which is where my actual advice to you starts. The first thing I'd do is get familiar with the supplies recon, filtering, pinning and the rest require. Stock them up front so it is one less worry later. None of it costs much, and against everything you save over pharma it is more than affordable.

Work out your own route for sourcing the peptide. Each person walks a different path, each has their own experience, each buys from somewhere else. Figure out what suits YOU and go with it.

Reta. If reta, or anything glp related, is new to you? Start by digging into the clinical data and the clinical dose protocol. That hands you a solid point to start from on dose and a basic titration schedule to work with. Recommended reta starting dose sits at 2mg. Most do fine there. Not everyone. Go low and slow. Begin at the recommended 2mg. Side effects hitting hard? Then drop it back by .5mg-1mg across those first 4 weeks. Give the medication time to reach a ready state, then perhaps retry the 2mg once you hit the 5 week mark. Other scenario: begin at 2mg, feel nothing bad, notice benefits and weight coming off? Then you're good. Hold the 2mg for 4 weeks, minimum. From there you can follow the clinical dose protocol and titrate up to 4mg as scheduled. Or you can squeeze every last drop of beneift and weight loss these medications have to offer. It doesnt sound like there is much weight you need to LOSE, more that you want to land in BETTER shape. Which may mean sitting at the LOWEST dose that works for you before going higher or titrating up. For myself, August 2025 through March 2026? Weight kept coming off and benefits stayed strong, so I never titrated either direction. I pinned 4mg weekly from August 2025 until at least March of this year. No need to push to 6mg, I tried and the side effects were not something I was willing to put up with. Not brutal. Not saying weight loss HAS to be a pleasurable experience, but I didnt NEED to deal with them and the weight kept leaving. Obviously, you do what works for you and your goals.

Lifestyle and nutirition matter. Every bit as much as the medication and the dose protocol. Sounds like your choices are already solid. Nutrition, exercise, either or both? Hard to say. The weight is coming off, so something is working. Keep at it. Eat well, sleep, hydrate, hit your steps AND ALSO, lift. You NEED........to push/pull some weights or get yourself into the gym. Even two sessions a week makes an IMMENSE difference for progress, for holding onto muscle, and even for BUILDING muscle while the weight comes off. Please, don't just pin and hope and give up the drive throughs. ADD IN TRAINING! Seriously, grab an app, run the same boring routine for 8-12 weeks and youll be thanking me.

To wrap it up: get familiar with the supplies and stock them before the medication lands. If you havent yet, read up a little on the clinical studies and the dose protocol. Work out your own route to sourcing the medication. Take the Reta. Low and slow. If its working? Leave it alone. Don't force it. Eat healthy. Drink Water. Don't be afraid to eat, the fuel is needed either way. Download an app. Get into the gym. Thank me sooner rather than later.

A stack, or a GHRH stack, is what I WOULDN'T recommend. Especially when you're lurking, new to grey, or have yet to touch a peptide at all. My suggestion is simpler: get a healthy lifestyle going alongside a GLP 1 first. Fine tune that protocol. Maybe THEN pull some bloodwork for a solid baseline. Something missing or off against your health or goals? THEN perhaps consider building a stack, adding another peptide or substance. Ain't no race to the finish line here. Monitor and adjust as needed. Dont just pin and pray it fixes a concern.

Happy Pepping!

Glad to have you here. Since I’m also just starting out, I’d like to see what advice people give you. Still, amazing job on the weight loss—that’s really something to celebrate.

Are you injecting cjc-1295 without DAC alongside ipa every day, and if that's the case, what does your cycling look like and which dosage do you find works best?

Each day I inject 350mcg at 05:00AM right after waking, then stay fasted until 12:00PM, doing this 5 days/week, with a schedule of 12 weeks on followed by 4 weeks off. In the early days I divided the dose into two shots: 200mcg upon waking and 200mcg just before bed. Eventually I switched to a single daily injection combined with fasting, and that shift made an enormous difference. A few hours after the shot, hunger shows up. I simply disregard it. I understand that growth hormone is being secreted and requires fuel. So it pulls that fuel from fat stores, since I leave it no alternative. It will still do its work if you eat, and your muscles will be maintained and even grow alongside training. However, under those conditions you won't drop fat quickly. Also, don't count on gains like HGH or TRT provide. This approach is more natural. I'm finishing my first cycle and have experienced only positives, with zero side effects up to now. 2 weeks ago I had bloodwork done and everything came back fine apart from vitamin D. For 5 weeks I've been on a 2mg/week Tirz maintenance dose, and for the last 4 weeks I've injected it once daily with fasting. During those 4 weeks at maintenance dose I dropped 1 kg every week.

Incidentally, during my blood test appointment I informed my doctor about the stack I was running to avoid muscle loss. She was somewhat doubtful at first. Still, she remarked that the outcome was impressive compared to other Mounjaro users. You know what you are doing. Just be carefull with the dosage and keep it on its purpose, she said.

I had been on prescribed Mounjaro for 7 months and never mentioned to her that I'd switched to Tirz. I continue getting prescriptions and purchasing Mounjaro, purely to keep everything in order. But I don't use them. I'm certain she wouldn't approve, given the financial gain she receives from it.
