Hello from New Jersey. I've been part of this community for a good while now — mainly lurking, dipping into posts here and there. My start was with a telehealth provider and a compounded form of Triz 5/24, and the results were great: 70lbs down. Once the FDA took it off the shortage list later in 2024, I started hunting for another option in case compounded stopped.
Then came 2/25 — an ER visit and my gallbladder removed. The hospital ran a bariatric program, so I gave it a shot. Following a 4-month pause from Triz, I began Zepbound on 6/25.
I went back to 2.5mg and moved up every 4 months, and the loss kept coming, just slowly. Right now I'm at 7.5mg, and things have stalled. No matter what I try, my weight bounces around within the same few pounds. Hunger isn't an issue, and I don't want to titrate because of worries about adverse effects. At this stage, my plan is to return to compounded Triz and add Reta.
I keep moving — daily walks plus lifting 3x per week — and I log everything I eat. Low-carb is my approach (under 20 carbs per day), with moderate protein and fat for satiety. I don't snack and don't eat processed foods, but I still can't get past this plateau. With another 50 lbs. to go, paying for treatment is getting hard too.
So here I am once more, reading and learning, hoping to pick up the knowledge that will keep me moving forward safely toward better health. Thanks for reading my journey.
