howdy everyone, 8 months on compounded tirzep over here, sourcing it through a med spa, and my dose just moved up to 6 mg at $65 per week. ANYWAY. Reta came onto my radar, I dug around, and finding this forum feels like a stroke of luck. 50 pounds are gone, another 10 or 15 might need to go, and after that my goal is to hold steady. Getting off it worries me, no question, and so does keeping up everything I've worked so hard for. The food noise is what worries me most. If anyone has thoughts on that, please share them. Tonight I'll be digging through the remaining threads to learn about sourcing and decide whether switching to Reta makes sense. I'm guessing a bunch of you have been on both, and I'd really like to read your stories!

Binge eating was my issue. That's why quieting the food noise matters more than anything to me, since it's what lets me figure out healthy eating and exercise. Thanks so much for having me!

Howdy! As the saying goes, food noise is a tough opponent to handle! Tirz stopped working as well for me, so the food noise returned — and it hit harder than before. Every day has been a struggle, though I've managed to stick with good decisions up to now. I just introduced 5-amino recently to look into its anti-inflammatory effects; it's given me a bit of relief, but I still need more. I went ahead and ordered some reta, which is on its way. Best of luck with your own journey!

I get what you mean!! Currently I'm at 7.5mg of Tirzep, and once I locate a supplier I can trust, reta is something I want to try. Tell me how things are going for you—I'm all ears!

Welcome aboard! Nice work dropping those 50 lbs — that's a big deal, particularly when binge eating is part of your history. The way you described "food noise" is, frankly, what flips the switch for plenty of folks.

Worrying about what happens when you stop is completely legitimate, and it's a good sign you're already weighing it now rather than putting it off.

Here's what tends to get repeated around here:

1. Food noise may resurface — though the shape of it varies

A lot of people do find it creeps back somewhat once they quit, yet it's rarely instant, and it often hits less hard when healthier routines have taken root along the way.

2. How you exit counts for more than where you land

Rather than cutting off cold turkey, many folks do better by:

  • stepping the dose down gradually
  • or switching to a low maintenance dose
A few even remain on a tiny dose indefinitely, simply to blunt that edge.

3. The routines you're forming right now carry the most weight

You touched on something crucial — you're treating this stretch as a chance to learn how to eat and train. That's precisely the right mindset. The peptide turns the volume down, but what you're assembling is the framework that holds up down the road.

4. Reta vs Tirz (a quick take)

What people tend to say:

  • Reta = somewhat more energy/expenditure
  • Tirz = at times stronger appetite suppression
It's not a hard rule, but worth keeping in mind if controlling food noise sits at #1 for you.

The wider view — you're sitting in a strong spot:

  • you've shed a meaningful amount of weight
  • you've pinpointed your primary trigger (binge/food noise)
  • you're planning ahead for maintenance
That's precisely how folks dodge the rebound.

Keep on reading and posting questions — this ranks among the most critical stages of the entire journey. 💪

I really appreciate you saying that! All this info and figuring out my next step has me feeling a bit overwhelmed, but I figure I’ll grab a few more weeks’ worth of doses from the med spa where I currently get my peptides, which gives me room to research things properly.
